Too Faced Smokey Eye Palette Swatches and Review

MAC Fall Colour Collection Clearer Swatches

As promised, here are some clearer swatches of the items from the MAC Fall Colour Collection. All swatches are under direct sunlight, which I think is the best lighting because you really get to see the products on actual skin under the most natural lighting. I didn't take swatches of some of the pigments because the ones I had from the previous post were somewhat clear already. I will also not comment on the products because I already gave my initial review on these. To read my reviews, check out my MAC Fall Colour Initial Swatches and Review Part I: Parlor Smoke Quad, Pigments, Lightscapade and Porcelain Pink MSFs. Also see MAC Fall Colour Initial Swatches and Review Part II: Angel Flame Quad, Pigments, Chromagraphic Pencils, Lipsticks.

Top: Lipsticks - Neon Orange, Show Orchid, Fusion Pink, Ruby Woo
Bottom: Chromagraphic Pencils - Rich Purple, Basic Red, Process Magenta, Hi-Def Cyan
Rightmost- Lingering brow pencil

MAC Fall Colour Initial Swatches and Review Part I: Parlor Smoke Quad, Pigments, Lightscapade and Porcelain Pink MSFs

I went to the MAC Fall Colour Collection's unveiling last week, and I was able to play with the colours. Here are my initial thoughts on this collection.

MAC Fall Colour Collection 2011 (originally named Cindy Sherman but it was renamed Fall Colour Collection 2011.  Cindy Sherman's only participation was during the campaign promotional photos.  She was not part of the creative process for this collection.)

Nail Look: Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Graphite

Graphite is one of the it nail colours this fall, along with Peridot from Chanel as well. Graphite is a metallic grey with silver foil-like shimmer. I am not as in love with this as Peridot or Butter London's Wallis, but it is one of my favorites for fall. It really beckons the eyes to stare at the tips because the silver foil makes it really eye-catching. It looks gritty but it feels really smooth, of course, upon application of top coat. This is opaque in two coats and is very edgy/trendy.

Allu Ultimate Skincare 14 Day Free Trial

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allu Ultimate Skin Care for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For thousands of years, people have searched for the fountain of youth.  In fact, somebody even wrote down what he believed to be the "recipe" for the fountain of youth on a papyrus leaf 4,000 years ago.

The "Recipe for Transforming an Old Man into a Youth" was written by Egyptian doctor and mysticist, Imhotep, to help aging Pharaohs transition into Gods and Goddesses. Thousands of years later, the Papyrus was discovered by famous explorer and antiquities expert, Edwin Smith.  After seven long years of research, Dr. Samir Bute unlocked the secret to the recipe's power and made what's now known as the world's most powerful Egyptian skin therapy, Allu Ultimate Skin Therapy./  All

Dr. Bute was mystified by the hemayet fruit that was in the 4,000-year-old ancient recipe. After many years of research, Dr. Bute discovered that the "hemayet fruit" was none other than the humble bitter almond.  He blended the essence of bitter almond with other nourishing, organic ingredients like green tea, grape seed extract, Vitamins A, C, and E, and Beta-Arbutin, a skin brightener, which inhibits melanin production by limiting tyrosinase. It reduces areas of hyperpigmentation, post blemish scars, fades freckles, and evens out skin tone. This results in brighter skin, more uniform in tone.

I've read success stories of people who've tried and loved Allu.  It is important however to determine your skin type (normal, oily, combination, dry) in order for the product to release its best potential on your skin.  One woman who has dry skin says that it worked best for her as a day moisturizer and makeup base, and it made her skin look and feel soft and supple.  Another customer uses the product as a night cream, and loves it as such.

Egyptian skin therapy is being used by Hollywood stars such as Kate Hudson, Oprah Winfrey, and Madonna.  If you want to try this Egyptian skin therapy potion that is used by the stars, you can now try it for free for 14 days.  Details about the Free Trial (+ $4.95 for shipping can be found on the Allu website,

MAC Fall Event 2011: Posh Paradise, Styledriven, Art of Powder, Fall Colour Collection 2011

I went to the MAC Fall event at the Biltmore last Tuesday, and just as expected, they showcased several collections for this fall, mainly Posh Paradise, Styledriven, Art of Powder, Matchmaster Foundation SPF 15 and MAC Fall Colour Collection 2011. I will be posting some pictures from the event, but swatches will be posted with my separate collection entries/reviews. It was a fun event, even though the place wasn't as jampacked at let's say Tartan Tale, Venomous Villains or Hello Kitty (the most gigantic crowd I've ever seen inside a MAC store - and beyond).

The lovely half-naked model on a pedestal. It was like the Posh Paradise poster came to life! And yes, she's a real person, not a mannequin!

OPI Miss Universe Swatches and Review

Ahh, pardon the delay! I've had these polishes for a couple of months now, and we just had a new Ms. Universe crowned (congratulations Ms. Angola!), but it's only now that I've had the opportunity to post these swatches. I am actually liking this small collection from OPI. There are a couple not-to-miss shades.

It's My Year

In the tradition of Orly nail polishes in Oui and Ingenue, as well as Zoya in Faye and OPI Rally Pretty Pink, this is one of the most popular kinds of shades in 2011. It's a purplish plummy, mauve-ish base with a fantastic amount of gold glass-like flecks. The gold flash is out of this world. One of my favorite polishes as I am such a sucker for purples. I can't say no to gold flecks as well.

Swimsuit...Nailed It!

Swimsuit...Nailed It! is as blingy as it is breathtaking. Gorgeous cobalt blue foil. One of the most beautiful blues I've ever seen OPI come up with. It is a rich and vibrant hue, and is opaque in one coat. A definite must-have if you love blues.

Congeniality is My Middle Name

A magenta shimmer with more of a purple base. Very similar to OPI The One Who Got Away from the Katy Perry collection. Very vibrant and if you like hot fuchsia/magenta pinks with shimmer, this is for you.

I don't have nail swatches of Crown Me Already, but I have one nail wheel swatch pictured here on the left side (the one with silver hexagon glitter):

This will work best as a glitter top coat. I don't find too many OPI polishes with hexagon glitter, so this one is pretty special.

All in all, this is a pretty solid little collection. In fact, this is one of my favorite OPI collections for 2011, and I like it a lot better than Touring America. For one, I like the magnificent textures of the polishes, the different finishes, the amazing, saturated colors. I like the opacity of most of the polishes as well. I hope OPI comes up with more collections with as much shimmer, glitter, glass flecks, foils, and bright, vivid colors like the Miss Universe collection.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.8 out of 5 stars.
