Pinks and Purples Using MAC Colour 3 Quad and Blooming Lovely Lipstick

Here is another pink and purple look from my favorite purple quad, MAC Colour 3 quad from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast. I used the darker hues as crease and outer V colors for this look.



For the main lid color, I used my favorite Aromaleigh eyeshadow (yes, I love this so much that I think out of the hundreds of Aromaleigh eyeshadows I own, this is the one I love the most). It's the now-discontinued eyeshadow from the Valentine 2009 collection called Soul Mate. How I love this shadow! I've used this in many of my EOTDs and it never fails to amaze me. It gives this soft but shimmery pink shade that is eye-catching and really opens up the peepers. I'm so sad this has been discontinued! But good thing I was able to score one from Aromaleigh's "garage-sale" of discontinued items.



I also used my beautiful mineralize blush duo in Two Virtues from Too Fabulous collection for this look. Lovely purple pink color!



I used my greyish pink lipstick with purple undertones, Blooming Lovely from the MAC Give Me Liberty of London collection. It's cool-toned, so I had to wear a warmer lipliner to balance the undertones. I love it though - very creamy and pigmented.



I used English Accents on top of Blooming Lovely. Here's how they look like together:



Here's a step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Fresco Rose paint pot on lid.


Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Aromaleigh Soul Mate on lid foiled on the lid using Charged Water (use a slightly damp brush).


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Bruised Plum on crease.


Using the same brush, apply Black Tulip on outer V. Blend with the 224 brush.

Pinks and Purples Using MAC Spring Colour Forecast Colour 3 Quad

Here is a pink and purple look using the purple quad from MAC Spring Colour Forecast. Since I love purples, this quad is a must-have for me. I always like to pair pinks and purples as I feel the combination is quite feminine and easy on the eyes.

Since this is a pink look, I added Swish on the inner lid to emphasize the contrast between pink and purple. I also used Almond Icing to highlight the browbone.



In order to show that VintageGrape blush ombre does not give you a bruised look, I applied this blush for this look. I like this better than Azalea Bloom because it is deeper and shows up better on my warm skin. I applied this using a duo-fibre angled blush brush so I don't end up having too much pigment on the cheeks.



Aaah! I am so in love with my new True Babe lipglass from the MAC Riveting collection! I seldom wear lipglasses on their own. I always wear them on top of lipsticks because I feel they are not pigmented or lasting enough, but True Babe is an entirely different story!! It is so pigmented that the blue based pink really shone through! And I thought I couldn't pull this off because it is too "cool" for my skintone, but I actually like the effect.

Here is a semi-step-by-step look. For some reason, my camera again deleted the first few steps of the tutorial. I hope you would still get the flow, though! All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.

Since I already did a review on these, I am just going to post product photos and maybe a one or two-liner describing the color. The Spring Colour Forecast collection is out today!

Spring Colour 1:


Rosey Outlook is a frosted baby pink. It's satin in formula so it doesn't have shimmer. It's pretty though but you need to pack it on and I suggest a creamy colored base like MAC paint pots.


Azalea Blossom blush ombre is a light cool pink. Like other blush ombres, it has a gradient palette of colors and has fine jet-milled shimmer. When I swatched it, it hardly showed up on my skin. I will try it again to see if maybe it is really supposed to be a light, barely-there color to lend an ethereal finish to the skin.


Galore Pink is a pretty mid-tone blue pink cream. I am hoping the blue will complement my skintone as I kinda like cool nail lacquer shades on my nails.


I am honestly not a fan of Phlox because it hardly showed up on my skin. It's a sheer light pink in the glaze formula. I like Laugh A Lot better, a mauve pink in the lustre formula (you know I'm a sucker for mauves).


Cultureclash is a beautiful frosty clear baby pink with multi-dimensional pearl. It's your basic baby pink gloss with shimmer. Not very unique but since this is your quintessential gloss, you can find lots of use for it.














As I'd mentioned in the part 1 of the review, I love purples and pinks so this had to be mine. I love the coordinating colors and I've already used tthis is in an eye look. Watch out for it!

Spring Colour 2:







Perky is a light salmon pink in the satin formula. Straw Harvest is a frosty light yellow orange with a lovely texture because it's veluxe pearl. Hot Hot Hot is a mid-tone coral satin which I really super duper love, very unique in my MAC eyeshadow collection. I did a coral look using these colors, including Nanogold.

Ripe Peach is probably the prettiest among the blush ombres in my opinion. It really does look like a ripe peach! The gradient shades are fantastic. I can't wait to use this.

Spring Colour 3 is a nice little sub-collection, part of the greater MAC Spring Colour Forecast mega collection.  It is a predominantly purple palette, and since I love purples, I am eyeing several items in this group.

Eye Shadow x4: Colour 3 Quad



My top pick from this cluster would be the quad.  I love purples, and this was the very first thing that captured my attention during the unveiling.  It has four coodinating shades of purple and pink. 

Mink Pink is a neutral soft pink that is veluxe pearl in finish.  It is nice as a highlight or a lid or inner corner (tearduct) color.

Bruised Plum is a midtone dirty mauve that would look great either as a lid color, a blender color (to soften dark crease colors) or a crease color itself.  It is my favorite color in this collection; a rather unusual hue.

Black Tulip is another beauty, a frosted dark grape that looks amazing as a crease color.  Love it!!

Jungle Moon is a matte blackened deep eggplant that reminds me of Shadowy Lady.  Would make a nice liner or crease color to smokify the eye look.

Lipsticks:

I am not too fond of the lipsticks, maybe because these are not my colors.  Radicchio is a sheer mid-tone blue mauve which I might like if I get to try it on my lips since I like mauves.  I have Hang Up and it's a deep berry cremesheen that is quite dark.  I don't wear it that often, because I don't use too much deep berry lipsticks.  This would look great for special occasions, holidays, or just when you want to give some oomph to your lip color.

Lipglasses:



Lavender Wind is a lavender lipglass with pearl.  This reminds me so much of an old lipglass that I have named Perky and is still a favorite of mine.  In fact, I have it in my purse and use it regularly.  I might get Lavender Wind to stock up since Perky was also a limited edition lipglass.

Purple Rage is a dark berry with pearl.  Same with Hang Up, except that this is in liquid form. 

Vintage Grape Blush Ombre:





Oh please do not judge it based on the picture above!  In person, it is very beautiful and delicate.  I swatched it rather heavily, so it came out looking like a bruise.  When applied using a blush brush, though, it is a pretty mid-tone violet pink that would suit a lot of skintones.  I like this a LOT better than Azalea Blossom blush ombre.  Seriously!  Give Vintage Grape a try (and a chance).

Nail Lacquer:

Imperial Splendour is a pretty deep creamy violet.  While I love purple nail polish, I skipped this because I already have too many similar looking polishes in my stash.

All in all, I would recommend the Colour 3 Quad, Vintage Grape blush ombre, and Lavender Wind lipglass.  These are my top choices for this sub-collection.
