Golds and Oranges Using MAC Hot Hot Hot, Perky and Straw Harvest Eye Shadows

It's almost ninety degrees outside, so let's turn up the heat with more hot hot hot eyeshadows! These are really warm colors that are perfect for the weather. I hardly use these MAC shadows I have from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast 2. To soften the look, I decided to not wear falsies. I also used MAC paint pot in Graphic Brown, a shimmering brown liner, instead of my usual black eyeliner.

Here's a step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise noted.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion on lid and lower lashline. Using a concealer brush, apply Perky paint pot on lid.


Using the 239 brush, apply Straw Harvest on lid.


Using the same brush, apply Perky (the eyeshadow) on crease and outer V.

Saint Patrick's Day Look Using MAC Eye Shadows

Green is my favorite color and one of my favorite eyeshadow colors, so here is a green springy look just in time for St. Patrick's Day.



I used my favorite MAC green and olive eyeshadows in Humid, Flourishing, and Greensmoke. Humid is one of my favorite MAC shadows of all time. It really makes green eye looks richer and gives depth to the whole look.



I also used the wonderful Grand Entrance dark hunter green eyeshadow from the MAC Holiday 2008 palette. I love this green, a deeper green but different in shade from Humid.



I used Manila Paper to highlight. It's from the Colour 4 quad of the Spring Colour Forecast collection. This shadow is quickly becoming one of my favorite highlighters.



I used MAC Fab-racadabra Bronze Face Kit from the Magic Mirth and Mischief Holiday 2009 collection. I can't get over how wonderful these three products work in tandem with each other. Sunbasque is a beautiful blush as it is, but combined with Golden bronzing powder and Buffed and Polished iridescent shimmer, it's perfection on my skintone.



I used MAC Brave New Bronze lipstick.



I used MAC dazzleglass in Sublime Shine over the lipstick.



I did use a pretty green mineral eyeshadow from Earthen Glow Minerals called Kauai Kiwi, a nice lime (or, okay, kiwi) color that is vibrant and contrasts beautifully with the dark MAC shadows.

Here's a step by step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay Sin primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Mossscape paint pot on lid.


Using a slightly damp stiff shader brush like the 239 (use Charged Water to dampen the brush), apply Earthen Glow mineral eyeshadow in Kauai Kiwi eyeshadow on the lid.


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Greensmoke on the crease.

Neutrals and Bronzes Using MAC Spring Colour Forecast Colour 4 Quad

Here's a simple neutral eye look with a dash of copper and bronze using MAC Colour 4 eyeshadow quad from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast 4 collection. I did this look three weeks ago but it's only now that I was able to remember this! It's very easy, simple and perfect for work or everyday use.



I also used the very pretty Straw Harvest eye shadow from MAC Spring Colour Forecast 2 for this look.

Here's a really quick step-by-step.  All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Perky paint pot on lid.



Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Straw Harvest on lid using patting motions.

Pinks and Purples Using MAC Spring Colour Forecast Colour 3 Quad

Here is a pink and purple look using the purple quad from MAC Spring Colour Forecast. Since I love purples, this quad is a must-have for me. I always like to pair pinks and purples as I feel the combination is quite feminine and easy on the eyes.

Since this is a pink look, I added Swish on the inner lid to emphasize the contrast between pink and purple. I also used Almond Icing to highlight the browbone.



In order to show that VintageGrape blush ombre does not give you a bruised look, I applied this blush for this look. I like this better than Azalea Bloom because it is deeper and shows up better on my warm skin. I applied this using a duo-fibre angled blush brush so I don't end up having too much pigment on the cheeks.



Aaah! I am so in love with my new True Babe lipglass from the MAC Riveting collection! I seldom wear lipglasses on their own. I always wear them on top of lipsticks because I feel they are not pigmented or lasting enough, but True Babe is an entirely different story!! It is so pigmented that the blue based pink really shone through! And I thought I couldn't pull this off because it is too "cool" for my skintone, but I actually like the effect.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Fresco Rose paint pot on lid. Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Swish on lid using patting motions. Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Bruised Plum on crease. Using the same brush, apply Black Tulip on outer V. Blend with the 224 brush.

Manicure of the Day: MAC Malibu Peach Nail Lacquer With New Konad Plate

I got my new Konad plates from wowsocool.com a few days ago, and I love them! I love the cool new designs, and the best part was the fancy french tip plate! I love the pretty new designs I can use on the nail tips. I can't wait to experiment with the new nail polishes I got (more are arriving soon!). The two other new plates are not available till the end of February, so I would have to wait till then, but I will definitely be ordering them as well (They're actually available for purchase now! I ordered 7 more plates today, I can't wait to get them). I got these using the wowsocool's 30% off coupon code ("nailphile"), with free shipping as well.





I used m80 (the fancy french nail tip plate) together with MAC Malibu Peach and Konad special polish in White. Malibu Peach is a bright tangerine orange that I didn't like that much on my skintone because of the too warm color, but it looked SO much better when I applied the french tip! It toned down the warmth of Malibu Peach and really made the nails look so much more interesting and feminine.

I am totally loving the french tip designs. The one I used has little scalloped borders, but it didn't show well on the nail because I wanted the flowers to be on the very tip of the nails. I will try this design again with the scallops visible.

Since I already did a review on these, I am just going to post product photos and maybe a one or two-liner describing the color. The Spring Colour Forecast collection is out today!

Spring Colour 1:


Rosey Outlook is a frosted baby pink. It's satin in formula so it doesn't have shimmer. It's pretty though but you need to pack it on and I suggest a creamy colored base like MAC paint pots.


Azalea Blossom blush ombre is a light cool pink. Like other blush ombres, it has a gradient palette of colors and has fine jet-milled shimmer. When I swatched it, it hardly showed up on my skin. I will try it again to see if maybe it is really supposed to be a light, barely-there color to lend an ethereal finish to the skin.


Galore Pink is a pretty mid-tone blue pink cream. I am hoping the blue will complement my skintone as I kinda like cool nail lacquer shades on my nails.


I am honestly not a fan of Phlox because it hardly showed up on my skin. It's a sheer light pink in the glaze formula. I like Laugh A Lot better, a mauve pink in the lustre formula (you know I'm a sucker for mauves).


Cultureclash is a beautiful frosty clear baby pink with multi-dimensional pearl. It's your basic baby pink gloss with shimmer. Not very unique but since this is your quintessential gloss, you can find lots of use for it.














As I'd mentioned in the part 1 of the review, I love purples and pinks so this had to be mine. I love the coordinating colors and I've already used tthis is in an eye look. Watch out for it!

Spring Colour 2:







Perky is a light salmon pink in the satin formula. Straw Harvest is a frosty light yellow orange with a lovely texture because it's veluxe pearl. Hot Hot Hot is a mid-tone coral satin which I really super duper love, very unique in my MAC eyeshadow collection. I did a coral look using these colors, including Nanogold.

Ripe Peach is probably the prettiest among the blush ombres in my opinion. It really does look like a ripe peach! The gradient shades are fantastic. I can't wait to use this.

Coral Eye Look Using MAC Spring Colour Forecast Eye Shadows in Perky and Hot Hot Hot

Here's an eye look using some of the beautiful eyeshadows from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast collection. I don't have MAC shadows similar to these colors so I was really excited to get them. They look good worn together.


I used Nanogold from the same collection to highlight.



To deepen the crease, I used Tempting and Dark Edge shadows from the Tempting quad.



I also used the dark brown from the MAC Inter-view mineralize eyeshadow trio for this look.



I used MAC Spaced Out blush from the Neo Sci Fi collection, one of my favorite coral blushes ever.



I also used MAC lipstick in Warm Me Up from the Warm and Cozy collection, topped with Cha Cha lipglass (see photo above).

Apply Dark Edge on the crease using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush.


Blend using the 224 brush.
