Honest Beauty Falling For You palette - cream blush

This was my very first foray into the Honest Beauty brand by Jessica Alba.  I was given the opportunity to try out the Honest Beauty Falling For You palette, a palette of rich, vibrant hues created by celebrity makeup artist, Daniel Martin.

The compact features five eyeshadows, one cream blush and two lip colors that are color-coordinated and are complementary hues.

Gold and Bronze Eye Look and Tutorial Using Aromaleigh Spells! Mineral Eye Shadows

Aromaleigh sent me samples of its new (and one of the last) limited edition eyeshadow collections inspired by - guess what - Harry Potter! The Spells! collection is aptly named and transports me back to the time when I was reading the series. Looking at the shades, it reminded me of my imaginary eye shadow color story inspired by this literary and pop cultural phenomenon. I was glad that some of the colors that were brewing in my mind were brought to life by Aromaleigh. As expected, Aromaleigh impressed me with the rich, pigmented colors of these shadows. I am glad it decided to release three last eyeshadow collections before it closes its doors for good.

I will be making some swatches of these shades, but first, here is an eye look featuring some of the neutrals and bronzes from this collection:

Here is a step-by-step. All eye products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC Coral Crepe paint pot on lid.

Using the Charm Pro shader brush, apply Fidelius foiled on the lid using MAC Fix+.

Using the same shader brush, apply Priori Encantato dry on the outer lid using patting motions.

Golds and Coppers Using Aromaleigh and MAC Eye Shadows

Note: Top right is Aromaleigh Elemental Lustre in Pyro

First of all, Happy Mother's day to all moms and all people who show motherly love to others! ;-)

Here's a gold and copper eye look using Aromaleigh Elemental Lustre mineral eyeshadows. I like these eyeshadows when using gold/copper/bronze looks because these are hella vibrant and they really look like molten metal on the lids. I also prefer to use these loose shadows dry, because they become way too metallic and frosty when foiled. I use them with a tacky eyeshadow base underneath - I prefer to use MAC paint pots.

I also used MAC's Cut To Fit eyeshadow from the Pret-a-Papier collection. It's a frosted red bronze that I'd thought would go well with the warm coppers of Aromaleigh Elemental Lustres.

Here is a step by step. All eye products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Sin all over lid and browbone and lower lashline. Apply MAC paint pot in Indianwood on lid using a fluffy shader brush.

Using a firm shader brush like the MAC 239, apply Ego on lid dry using patting motions.

Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply MAC Cut To Fit on outer V.

Golds and Oranges Using MAC Hot Hot Hot, Perky and Straw Harvest Eye Shadows

It's almost ninety degrees outside, so let's turn up the heat with more hot hot hot eyeshadows! These are really warm colors that are perfect for the weather. I hardly use these MAC shadows I have from the MAC Spring Colour Forecast 2. To soften the look, I decided to not wear falsies. I also used MAC paint pot in Graphic Brown, a shimmering brown liner, instead of my usual black eyeliner.

Here's a step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise noted.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion on lid and lower lashline. Using a concealer brush, apply Perky paint pot on lid.

Using the 239 brush, apply Straw Harvest on lid.

Using the same brush, apply Perky (the eyeshadow) on crease and outer V.
