Pink and Purple Eye Look and Tutorial Using MAC Swish and Play It Cool Eyeshadows

Happy New Year everyone! Here's a look that's been sitting in my laptop for a couple of months now, and I'd forgotten about it till I just browsed through my photos. Here's a purple and pink eye look using MAC Swish eyeshadow, and 6 Beauties Play It Cool Palette from the A Tartan Tale collection. As you can see in the photo above, I love Swish so much that I've already hit pan. It's your quintessential pink shadow and it's a nice lid color or wash to pair with a purple on your crease or outer lid.

Here is a step by step. All products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay in Sin primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Fresco Rose on lid.


Using the Charm Pro shader brush or a MAC 239 brush, apply Swish on lid using patting motions.

Okay, the time has come to announce the winner of the Holiday Giveaway for Followers: A Tartan Tale Brush Set.  But before I do that, I want to thank a vast majority of the entrants who followed the Contest Mechanics to the letter. There were some, however, who did not follow or read the Contest Mechanics at all, and I had to manually disqualify some entries because they can be classified as spam entries. The contest mechanics specifically stated that after the initial two entries, each person can only enter ONCE A DAY. And yet, I saw one person enter FIVE times a day every day, and I don't think that is fair for the other people who entered and followed the rules. MAC A Tartan Tale: 6 Dashing Lassie Eyeshadow Palette Look and Tutorial

Once Upon a Time Metallic vanilla (Veluxe Pearl), A Dashing Lassie Metallic milk (Frost), Magical Mist Metallic taupe (Lustre)

Here is a neutral look using one of my favorite palettes for the holidays, MAC 6 Dashing Lassie eyeshadow palette from the A Tartan Tale collection. Ironically, even though I bought this palette because I fell in love with Magical Mist, I didn't use that shade for this look because I felt it was a bit too cool for the look that I was going for.

Here is a step by step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Sin all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Coral Crepe paint pot on lid.


Using a stiff shader brush, apply A Dashing Lassie on lid.


Using Charm Pro tapered blending brush (MAC 222 dupe) blender brush, apply Bronze on outer V and crease.

MAC Nail Lacquer in Vintage Vamp Swatches and Review

In my entry MAC A Tartan Tale Chapter 2 Sneak Peek: Lipglass, Pigments and Nail Lacquer Mini Sets Swatches and Review, I had posted tape swatches of these mini lacquers that are really cute. I had thought that it would be difficult to apply the lacquer on the nail given the itty bitty size, but I was wrong. I hate other mini-bottles but MAC's didn't give me a hard time applying on the nail. The brush is just the same size, I believe, as that of the original bottle, because I didn't feel anything different while applying.

This time, I am showing nail swatches of Vintage Vamp, a blood red that looks jelly instead of cream to me. This is a bit sheer in application so I had to use at least three coats to make it completely opaque.









I like the dark red color because it is very fall-ish. I really like blood reds, it is not too in-your-face red and yet it is attractive and just perfect for the season.  I also am beginning to like the mini-lacquers maybe because the brush and the not-too-small cap gave me enough control in applying the polish, and besides, they are too cute in their tin canisters.  I will be swatching the other mini-lacquers soon.
