Sham-rocking the Greens: St. Paddy's Day Eye Look and Tutorial

Hey everyone! I know I'm a day late but here is my St. Patrick's day interpretation. I love greens for brown eyes, so I have lots of different shades of green shadows in my stash.

Secret World

Haute Model

For the crease and outer lid, I used these amazing 10-color eyeshadow palettes from NYX! NYX is one of my favorite eyeshadow brands because they are really pigmented, easy to blend, and the colors are truly saturated and rich. Plus, they are easy on the pocketbook. I used the olive and dark greens in the Secret World palette, and the beautiful gold-green-brown hybrid eyeshadow (top left) from the Haute Model palette.

For the inner lid, I used my favorite mineral eyeshadow in Kauai Kiwi from Earthen Glow Minerals. This company is no longer around, but I am pretty sure you can find a substitute for this - any lime green eyeshadow will do.

I also used Oomph from the MAC Mickey Contractor collection to add some depth to the crease.

I used the Bare Escentuals Buxom Eye Stick in Bow and Arrow (middle) as a colored base.

Here is a step-by-step. All products NYX unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Eden all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Apply Bare Escentuals Buxom Eye Stick in Bow and Arrow on lower lid.

Using the Bare Escentuals Smoky Eye brush, smudge the product to blur harsh edges.

Using a stiff shader brush, apply Earthen Glow mineral shadow in Kawai Kiwi over Bow and Arrow and all over lid.

Using the Sonia Kashuk blending brush, apply olive shadow in Secret World palette on outer lid.

Using the same brush, apply the top-right shadow from the Haute Model palette.

NYX I Dream Of Antigua Eyeshadow Palette Look and Tutorial

As promised, here is a look using the NYX I Dream of Antigua 5-piece eyeshadow palette, the same palette Selena Gomez used at the 2010 MTV Music Awards. As I had mentioned, I love the nice, smooth texture and good pigmentation. I don't usually wear blues but I like this look. Here's a step-by-step. All products NYX unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Sin all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC Delft paint pot on lid.

Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply the third shadow from the left on the lid.

NYX Caribbean Collection 5 Color Shadow Palette Swatches and Review

I was able to try some NYX 5 Color Shadow Palettes from the Caribbean Collection. I've had some NYX palettes from the Runway Collection and I am loving them, but this is the first time I've tried the 5-shadow palettes.

Dark Blues and Greys Using NYX Smokey Eyes Palette and MAC Give Me Liberty Of London Eye Shadows

Here is a smokey grey and dark blue eye look using eyeshadows from the MAC Give Me Liberty of London collection. I really love these eyeshadows especially Birds & Berries (the name is adorable as well). It's a gorgeous dark green blue in the veluxe pearl formula. I am such a sucker for the combination of dark blues and greys as I think this is a match made in heaven. Love the vibrant dark blues in contrast with the greys and blacks. That's why I really love my MAC Tone:Grey eyeshadow quad as well. I also used Bough Grey which is a grey blue color, also from the Give Me Liberty of London collection.

This is the first time I used my NYX Smokey Eyes palette. This was the last palette in stock at my neighborhood ULTA, so I had to make do with its chipped shadows as you can see in the photo above! I love this palette though and the shadows applied smoothly and vibrantly especially with the Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Skinny Jeans that I used underneath:

I used the lovely Jouer mineral blush in Blossom.

I used MAC Perfect Topping MSF to highlight.

Please refer to the NYX Smokey Eyes palette photo for particular eyeshadows used since I'd labeled them for reference. All eye products used are MAC unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Sin all over lid and browbone and lowerlashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Benefit Skinny Jeans on lid.

Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Shadow A of the NYX palette on lid.

Use a piece of Scotch tape on the corner of the eye to create a clean edge.

Greens and Olives Using NYX Runway Collection Secret World Palette

I was able to score three of the four NYX palettes yesterday at ULTA, and two of them were the last ones at my ULTA store, so that explains why there are cracks in the shadows (believe me, I wouldn't get the ones with cracks if there were other available ones). Nonetheless, I loved the colors so much to overlook the imperfections of the items. For this look, however, I used my perfect Runway Collection palette in Secret World:

These are hella pigmented and rich, and the application is very smooth. It's amazing to know that these shadows are just a dollar each, because each 10-shadow palette is only $9.99 each. I also love how the shadows looked on my lids. The finish is just the same as my high-end eyeshadows over a good eyeshadow base.

Here's a step-by-step. Refer to the photo above for the particular shadows used.

Apply Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin all over lid and lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Mosscape on lid.

Using a firm shader brush, apply Shadow A on lid.

Using a crease brush (I used Sonia Kashuk blender brush), apply Shadow B (a beautiful olive color) on outer V.
