MAC Sonoran Rain and Wonder Woman Lipglass Comparison Swatches and Submit a Sonoran Rain Swatch to Win One for a Friend!

I have been seeing some amazing swatches of MAC Sonoran Rain lipglass online, so I'd thought I'd share them with you. I also thought of making comparison swatches of Sonoran Rain and Wonder Woman lipglasses because there are talks saying that they are quite similar. I will also announce a cool contest that can let you win one of three Sonoran Rain lipglasses for a friend! But first, here are some amazing Sonoran Rain swatches from bloggers who are not part of the Bloggers' Obsessions collection:

More Like Space created a beautiful look using some of the shadows from the MAC Bloggers Collection. She used Sonoran Rain and I was blown away by how beautiful it looked on her. I knew that this shade would look great on all skintones, but to see it look amazing on such fair, porcelain skin was such a treat! Her review was quite thorough, informative and the way she writes is also quite charming.

Karla Sugar is a popular blogger who is known for her amazing swatches. I liked how she not only posted skin swatches but also lip swatches of the products. She looked great wearing each one of the lipglasses!

Beauty Gala also posted a look using Sonoran Rain and I am amazed at how sexy and luscious it looked on her lips.

If you want to be featured on this blog wearing Sonoran Rain lipglass, leave the link to your look in the Comment Box below with your e-mail address for notification purposes. I will pick three winners who shall be featured in a separate entry, and shall win one Sonoran Rain lipglass each for them to give away to a friend or loved one. Don't forget to leave your e-mail address for notification purposes!

This contest shall start today and ends July 15, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. Arizona time.  Timeliness of the submission of entries shall be determined by the timestamp of each entry. And yes, this contest is open to all The Shades Of U readers worldwide!!

Finally, here are some comparison swatches of Sonoran Rain and Wonder Woman. There are some comments saying that these two are dupes. They can look similar in hand or skin swatches, but they are not similar at all when applied on the lips, as you can see below.

Soft Smoky Plum Eye Look and Tutorial Using MAC Palace Pedigreed Quad

Courtly, Palace Pedigreed
Quite Spoiled, Russian Blue

I have been shopping my stash and there are some pretty stuff that I haven't used in quite a while! I love smokey plummy looks, so here's one using the Palace Pedigreed eyeshadow quad from the MAC Fabulous Felines collection of last year.

Ava (top)

To give the shadows a richness and depth that normally is difficult to achieve by just applying shadows straight on the skin, I used Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencil in Ava, a rich purple.

I also used MAC Shale shadow for this particular look. I haven't used this shadow in a long time so I forgot how pretty it is.

I also used MAC Nocturnal shadow for the crease and outer V.

Here is a step-by-step. All products MAC unless otherwise stated.

Apply Urban Decay primer potion in Eden all over lid, browbone and lower lashline. Apply Sue Devitt intensifier pencil in Ava on lower lid.

Using a stiff shader brush, apply Palace Pedigreed over Ava and all over lid. Using the Sonia Kashuk blending brush, apply Shale on outer lid.

Blend the 2 colors with the 224 brush.

Using the same SK blender brush, apply Nocturnal on outer V.

Blue Eye Look and Tutorial Using MAC Jeanius and Wonder Woman Eyeshadows and Bare Escentuals Buxom Smoky Eye Sticks

Here is another look featuring the blue eyeshadow quad from from the MAC Wonder Woman collection. I used some of the colors from the Lady Justice quad.

I also used the large eyeshadows from the Jeanius collection.

I also used Cremeblend blush in Brit Wit for this look (top left).

I also used MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick in Impressive (top).

Here is a step by step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise noted.

Apply Urban Decay in Eden primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Apply Bare Escentuals Buxom Waterproof Smokey Eye Stick in Nunchucks on lower lid. Blend harsh edges with the Bare Escentuals Buxom Smoky Eye Brush.

Using the Charm Pro shader brush or a MAC 239 brush, apply Diva in Distress on lid using patting motions.

Blue Eye Look and Tutorial Using the MAC Wonder Woman Lady Justice Eye Shadow Quad

Here is another look featuring the blue eyeshadow quad from from the MAC Wonder Woman collection.

I used the middle strip in Golden Lariat MSF to contour and as a bronzer.

I used Amazon Princess blush (blend of both sides).

I used one of my favorite lipsticks from the collection, Spitfire.

I used Athena's Kiss lipglass on top of Spitfire.

Here's a step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise noted.

Apply Urban Decay in Sin primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Delft on lid.

Using the Charm Pro shader brush or a MAC 239 brush, apply Insurmountable on lid using patting motions.

Green Eye Look and Tutorial Using MAC Wonder Woman Valiant Quad

Here is a look featuring many of the products from the MAC Wonder Woman collection. I'd thought at first that I wouldn't love this green palette Valiant, but surprisingly, I did. I love the refreshing greens of this palette - they're more olives and forest green than a true green. And I can't stress enough that greens look amazing on brown eyes.

I used the middle strip in Golden Lariat MSF to contour and as a bronzer.

I used the top strip of Pink Power MSF to highlight the cheekbones.

I used Mighty Aphrodite blush (blend of both sides).

I used Marquise D' lipstick.

I used Emancipation lipglass on top of Marquise D'.

Here's a step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise noted.

Apply Urban Decay in Sin primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Cash Flow on lid.

Using the Charm Pro shader brush or a MAC 239 brush, apply Valiant on lid using patting motions.

Nail Look: MAC Wonder Woman Nail Lacquer in Obey Me with OPI Shatter

I don't normally wear red on my finger nails, but I am really liking this MAC Wonder Woman nail lacquer in Obey Me. It is described as a true red cream, and I really think that it is aptly described. It is a true red, it doesn't pull orange or tomato red on me. It is not too blue-based either. It is just the perfect red cream on my skintone. I added OPI Shatter on top of it and it looks pretty cool. The Shatter is part of the OPI Katy Perry Collection. It gives a cracked effect on the nail polish that almost every nail polish addict is going bonkers over.

It's pretty cool and you can use your imagination and think about as many color combination possibilities for your Shattered look.

Note: Obey Me was provided by a representative of the company for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
