Sue Devitt Eye Intensifier Pencils Swatches and Review

So remember two weekends ago when I attended this beautiful wedding? The makeup artist for the bride is a good friend of mine, and she works for Sue Devitt. She was using the Eye Intensifier Pencil on the bride and I was so intrigued by it. It's basically a chunky pencil/crayon that glides like a dream on the skin, and it has ten beautiful shades that have amazing staying power. She used I believe Zaire on the bride's eyes as base, then applied complementing eyeshadows that made her eyes so beautiful. She also cried during the wedding ceremony and the reception, but they didn't smudge, nor did it melt off her lids. This was how she looked like after my friend did her makeup, using all Sue Devitt products:

Doesn't she look beautiful? I especially loved her eye makeup which was of course the Sue Devitt eye intensifier pencil. I loved it so much that I went to ULTA and and got my very own duo:

I got the Sue Devitt Perfect Pairings for Brown Eyes. The pencils retail for $22 each, but you can get the duo for only $35. I also LOVE the shades in this duo - Zaire, a darkened plum, and Ava, a rich purple:

Ava, Zaire

These pencils are amazing. They glide like butter on the lids, don't crease, have great staying power, and the colors are to-die-for. They aren't splotchy either. They are best applied with an eye primer applied underneath for maximum staying power. I like them as bases for my powder eyeshadows. They make the eyes look more deep-set and smoky. The result is a very sultry pair of peepers!

I have Laos coming in the mail and I have another one called Kilimanjaro that I got from Ebay.  I intend to collect these amazing pencils.  What's great is that the other end has a smudger that you can use to make the eyes look smokier.

Here are some more swatches of the other pencils:

Top: Surat, Epernay, Victoria Falls
Bottom: Zaire, Kenya, Bangalore, Tanzania, Gold Reef, Laos, Chiang Mai

Can you believe how rich and pigmented they are? What I really like about these pencils is that compared to the other pencils I've tried, these are not hard to blend at all. They glide like butter, and they blend like a dream. They don't tug at the lids and are very rich and creamy.

I guess you can compare this to the new Urban Decay shadow pencils, but if you buy the duos, you can have the Sue Devitt pencils at a cheaper price, since two of them are $35 while the Urban Decay ones are $20 each. If you have Barney's or ULTA near you, I highly suggest you check out these Sue Devitt pencils. I believe these are the star products in the Sue Devitt line.

Hi! Is this easier to apply than the usual sponge applicator? You just swipe and then smudge? I am so not makeup savvy so I really have no clue! Hahaha!

I'm intrigued by the deep saturated color. And if it doesn't crease, I'm running out and getting some ASAP!

Kizzy- I know! I wish they were a few dollars cheaper. :(

fullmeasure- yup, swipe and smudge, that's a good way to describe it. Or you can apply eyeshadow over it to set it and make it last longer.

Kimberly- I apply UD primer potion underneath and it doesn't smudge on me.

melvel- maybe humidity was a factor. :(
