Sunset Eye Look and Tutorial Using MAC Melon Pigment

Here is what I call "sunset eyes" with some brown to create depth. I love the peaches, corals and brown combination. It is neutral enough if you don't like garish colors, but it is a notch above boring, same-old-same-old neutral shades.  I used MAC Melon pigment which I have not worn in a long time.  I love how it complements my skintone and how great it looks with golds, bronzes, coppers and browns.  I also used the MAC Inter-View mineralize eyeshadow trio (I used the dark brown shade for the crease).  I didn't use the L'Oreal eyeshadow for this look, so please don't mind it. lol




I also used my beautiful MAC Coral Crepe paint pot.  This is one of my favorite paint pots ever.  I use this for a wide variety of looks, and it looks great with all of my neutral, gold, bronze and even summery eye looks.



I used the MAC Colour 4 Quad from early this year's Spring Colour Forecast (Beige/Amber cluster) collection.  The colors are perfect for a nice sunset look.



To give that reddish coral pop of color, I used MAC Hot, Hot, Hot and Perky, of course from the Spring Colour Forecast (Coral Cluster) collection. I love these colors because they give a different, saucy flavor to neutral looks.

Here's a step by step. All products MAC unless otherwise noted.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion on lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Coral Crepe on lid.


Using a stiff shader brush like the 239, apply Melon pigment dry on lid in patting motions.


Using Sonia Kashuk shader brush (or the 217, but I prefer SK), apply Perky eye shadow on crease.

Peachy Plums Using MAC Mineralize Shadows and Aromaleigh En Pointe

Here's a look using the dark berry/plum color in the new MAC mineralize eyeshadow in Odd Bits from the Colour Craft collection. I really like the colors in this quad because the shades are pretty versatile, an odd mix (which reflects its name) of cool and warm tones.


I also used the dark brown shade in the Inter-View mineralize eyeshadow from Red She Said collection to deepen the crease.


My full size Aromaleigh shadows from the En Pointe collection arrived 3 weeks ago, and I was excited to use the lovely, feminine colors. I used Giselle for this look, a pretty peachy pink.


I also used Aromaleigh's Red drama queen liner for this look.


I also used Smooth Merge MSF for this look.

Apply Bare Canvas paint on lid. Using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" brush (or the 239 brush), apply Aromaleigh shadow in Giselle foiled on the lid using Charged Water.


Using the other side of the brush, apply the berry color in the Odd Bits quad on the crease going down to the outer V.




Using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Cranberry eyeshadow on the outer V, then add the brown side of Inter-View. Blend the colors with the 224 brush.


Apply Vanilla pigment on the browbone using Stila No. 5 brush.


Wetline Aromaleigh Drama Queen mineral liner in Red using Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush and Charged Water.


Apply Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero to tightline and on waterline. Using the Sonia Kashuk mini-crease/detail brush, apply Giselle on inner lower lashline, and Cranberry on outer lower lashline. Apply falsies (I forget the brand) and mascara. Although this is a very pretty color, this was my first time to use mineral liner with falsies, so it caked a little bit as I was running a second application of liner on my lashline. Pardon the mess!

Pink and Red Look Using Aromaleigh Mineral Shadows

I did this look two weeks ago, but it's only now that I'm posting it, so pardon me if I forget some of the products I used. Iseered is a really bright, fiery red, but you can definitely tone it down by applying it dry and mixing it with neutral colors, like what I did in this case.




I also used MAC's Inter-view mineralize eyeshadow trio for this look.


I used Tanzanite gel liner for the upper lashline.


I used Estee Lauder Midnight Rose lipstick.

All products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, brows, lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pot in Fresco Rose on lid. Using a stiff shader brush (MAC 239 or Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8", apply Kiki dry on inner lid.


Using the same brush, Apply Iseered on outer V and crease. Blend with the 224 brush.


Like so.


Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Cascade dry on the outer lid.




Blend with the 224. Using Stila Brush No. 5, apply MAC eyeshadow in Vex to highlight the browbone.


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply a little bit of MAC Inter-View mineralize shadow (dark brown side) on the crease and outer V to blend with Cascade. Blend colors together using the 224.


Apply Indelible gel liner in Tanzanite on upper lashline.


Apply Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero to tightline and on waterline. Apply mascara. Apply Kiki on inner lower lashline and Cascade on outer lower lashline using the Sonia Kashuk mini detail brush.

Soft Smoky Eyes Using Stila Smoky Eye Talking Palette

Hello lovelies! Here's another look using one of my recent purchases. For this look, I used the Stila Smoky Eye Talking Palette and Stila Red Carpet Look #3. I'm liking the colors in this look. I made the look softer than the usual smoky eyes we envision because I wore this during the day. If you are thinking of using the Smoky Palette on a night out, you can easily make the application a little more dramatic.



I used MAC Layin' Low paint pot on top of Butternutty because when I first tried Stila Kitten, it was a bit too sheer and gritty for my taste. Layin' Low made Kitten adhere better on my lid and created a smoother canvas for the eyeshadows.



I also used 3N lipstick for this look. I love the N collection. It might be a bit boring to some, but this is one collection where I reach for the colors regularly, unlike others which can languish in my dresser drawer for months before I remember to use them.



I also used Enough Said beauty powder blush from the MAC Red She Said collection. In this collection, Stark Naked was the star product and more popular than Enough Said, but my warm colouring complements the beautiful warm tones of Enough Said.



I used Jouer lipgloss in Pink Sand, one of the prettiest glosses that I have. It's such a beautiful peachy pink gloss.


I used Refined MSF on top of the blush.

Here's a step-by-step illustration. All products Stila unless otherwise stated.


Apply MAC Butternutty shadestick all over lid and browbone, brows and on the lower lashline. Blend with finger. Apply MAC Layin' Low paint pot on the lid using a fluffy shader brush.


Using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" brush (or MAC 239 brush), apply Kitten on the lid.


Using the MAC 224 brush, apply Puck shadow on crease.


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Kettle on the crease and outer V. Blend Puck and Kettle using the 224.




Using the same Sonia Kashuk brush, apply Ebony to contour crease. Blend using the 224.


Apply more Ebony to deepen the crease. Apply MAC shadow in Brule on edge of shadows above the crease using the 224 to soften harsh lines.


Apply champagne color (Base) in the Smoky Palette on the browbone using Stila No. 5 brush. Apply Kitten on inner lower lashline, and Ebony on outer lower lashline using MAC 219 brush. Apply MAC Penultimate liquid liner in Rapidblack on upper lashline. Apply Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero to tightline and on waterline. Apply Revlon falsies in Flirty. Apply mascara.
