Anastasia Beverly Hills Blue Lotus Mist Review

When I went to the Anastasia Brow Event in Nordstrom where I was able to meet Anastasia herself, I was able to try the Blue Lotus Mist that was just about to be launched. However, I didn't fully appreciate the product after a couple of spritzes. Upon trying it regularly to set my makeup, though, I now have a few words to say about it.

Here is how Anastasia Beverly Hills describes its new product (Disclaimer: claims belong to the manufacturer, not this website's):

Introducing Blue Lotus Mist From Anastasia Beverly Hills
To Revive Complexion and Provide Skin With An Instant Burst of Radiance!

Los Angeles, CA – Anastasia Soare has been the Definitive Brow and Eye Expert for Hollywood’s elite for the past twenty years. Following the success of her cosmetics line, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Anastasia launched her first ever skincare collection nationwide in late December 2009! In expanding her skincare line for Spring and Summer 2010, Anastasia announces the launch of Blue Lotus Mist. This new product is the perfect fusion of hydrating water and a soothing serum that provides soothing relief for stressed skin.

Blue Lotus Mist contains flower extracts from South Africa that revive dull and tired complexions and provide skin with an instant burst of radiance. The Chinese symbol for life, the Blue Lotus has been preserving the beauty of Asian women for over 5,000 years. As an icon of purity and peace, this calming essence detoxifies with rich antioxidants. Blue Lotus Mist also contains Anastasia’s exclusive Balkan Botanical® Infusion, a blend of rare plant and herb extracts found only in the rich soil of Romania. This unique and exclusive blend has the power to soften, soothe and restore the skin’s natural radiance.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Blue Lotus Mist Key Ingredients:

Nymphaea Coerulea (Blue Lotus) Flower Extract – Helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Aloe Vera – Hydrates and soothes skin.

Vitamin B1 and B6 – Promote healthy looking skin by hydration and acts as a toner.

Balkan Botanical® Infusion – An antioxidant rich complex; helps soothe, soften and hydrate skin.

Celebrity fans of Anastasia Beverly Hills include Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, Sienna Miller, Kim Kardashian, Megan Fox and many more!

Blue Lotus Mist will launch exclusively at Nordstrom locations nationwide in May 2010 and retail for $26.00.

My Take: I have been using this regularly for the past few weeks and I like the refreshing light scent of the product. When the company claims that this calms the senses, it truly does, at least in my experience. I think the difference between this hydrating mist and other mists in the market is that it is both a hydrating mist and aromathery product, as well as a skincare item.

The Body Deli's HydraMist: Key to a Flawless Makeup Finish

Many of you know that I use mineral makeup, and it effectively keeps my look flawless and my skin healthy and radiant. This is because real mineral makeup (not the hybrids you find in some commercial establishments) holds only the most natural ingredients without parabens, preservatives, and other gunk that could clog the pores. It also gives maximum coverage for days when I need it, or sheer dewy finish when I want my skin to look flawlessly radiant. Some people don't like mineral makeup because they say that it looks cakey on them. My take? It may be true, but most of the time, it won't end up looking cakey if you apply them in very light layers (with mineral makeup, less is more), and if you use a hydrating mist to set the makeup and to make it dewy and natural.

On Mineral Makeup Application

I apply my mineral makeup in this manner: I sprinkle just a miniscule amount of mineral foundation on my swirly bowl (I use a tea cup I bought at the asian supermarket which has tall sides and a narrow circumference that perfectly holds my kabuki or flat top brush). I swirl my brush in the bowl until all the minerals are evenly tucked into the hairs of the brush. I take my hydrating mist and spritz 2 or 3 squirts onto the brush, then I apply it on my face. Sometimes, I apply the mineral foundation dry, spritz the hydrating mist directly on my face, then use my kabuki or flat top to even out the product until it melds like second skin onto my face. I do this procedure 2 times, or 3 if I need coverage. Some people use a sponge (I like the red ones that Dayna uses), and that works great as well. As of now, I use 3 different hydrating mists: MAC Fix+ (the one I use constantly), Frownies Rose Water Hydrating Mist, and Garden of Wisdom Pineapple Hydrating Mist . The Body Deli is coming up with a hydrating mist that I am very interested to try.

The Body Deli is one of my favorite organic body product companies, and this brand churns out only the best body and bath products with the freshest (literally!) ingredients. Read below for more information:

David Parker, co-owner and “Cosmetic Chef” of the eco-friendly, raw beauty line, The Body Deli, shared with us a great tip for fans of mineral make-up!

“Misting is the key to a flawless finish,” says David Parker of The Body Deli in Palm Desert , CA .

Eliminate the ‘cakey’ look that’s produced by mineral make-up by continuously misting your face throughout the day. Mineral make-up can easily dry out skin. It’s important to hydrate your face in order to refresh the look of your mineral powder.

The Body Deli just launched the Liquid Vitamin Hydra-Mist, $55, which has multiple benefits for your skin and imparts a dewy glow on your complexion.

The Body Deli’s Liquid Vitamin Hydra-Mist infuses nutrients and hydration into the skin using:

· Rovisome Vitamin C
· Nutra-Peptides
· Sea Kelp bioferment
· Micro-clustered H2O

These highly rejuvenating actives combined with micro-clustered water and atomized in our pharmaceutical grade fine mist sprayer deliver the necessary ingredients that deeply absorb and penetrate the cellular membranes. It imparts a dewly, youthful look and helps to reduce the signs of aging.

Hydra-Mist is formulated from a proprietary blend of ionically charged “acidic” water which molecule size is much smaller than regular water. This micronized water is the carrier system for the powerful liposome encapsulated antioxidant Vitamin C. Sea kelp bioferment supplies a bio-available form of kelp that attracts and binds moisture to the skin. Peptides increase the skin’s ability to boost collagen integrity and support elasticity.

What do you think? Do you use a hydrating mist?
