Red-Brown Look Using MAC and Aromaleigh

I used some of my pretty mineral shadows from Aromaleigh for this look, along with some products from MAC. I used a shadow from the discontinued, limited edition collection called L'orchidee. The shadow is named Chatter Box, described on the Aromaleigh website as a "rich, multi-dimensional brownish mauve smoke with frosted shimmer".


To lend reddish nuances to the look, I added a tiny bit of Velvet Dream from the gorgeous Gothic Lolita collection.





Finally, I was able to wear the famed Pure Rouge blush in Verve. It's Aromaleigh's version of NARS Orgasm blush, and I really love Verve. It is not splotchy at all on the cheek; it applies smoothly and gives this really subtle but buildable pretty coral flush. I applied it using the angled fiber optic from Lumiere and the outcome is subtle but definitely gorgeous. You can go as pigmented or as subtle as you like with this blush. I also like the tiny shimmery particles that are not in-your-face but more of like a subtle radiance.


I also used one of my favorite mineral liners, Drama Queen liner in Red, also from Aromaleigh.


I used the pretty MAC eyeshadow in Et Tu, Bouquet? from the A Rose Romance collection.


I used Hold the Pose lipstick from the Makeup Art Cosmetics Richard Phillips collection.


I applied one of my favorite MAC lipglasses, Nico.


One the lid, I applied a pretty mineral eyeshadow from Valerie Minerals, Miranda.

Here's a step-by-step. All products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.


Apply MAC Bare Canvas paint all over lid and lower lashline. Using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" brush (or the 239 brush), apply Valerie Beauty mineral shadow in Miranda foiled using MAC Charged Water on lid.


Using the same brush, apply Velvet Dream on outer V.


Using the same brush, apply Chatterbox on crease. Blend with the MAC 224 brush.

Reds and Burgundy Liner Using Aromaleigh Mineral Makeup and Bare Escentuals

Here is a look using reds and burgundy liner from some products in my mineral makeup stash. I used Cory Minerals' Amused blush. In the bag, it looked so unassuming, or rather, boring, but on the cheeks, it gives a really pretty flushed finish with just the nicest delicate shimmer.







In one of the cosmetics company outlets in California, I also found two of my favorite lipglasses from MAC: Nico and Nico Now; the latter is a back-up for me because I have one in my stash. Nico is a cult classic, while Nico Now is like a tribute product in honor of the classic Nico. They released Nico Now in one of my favorite MAC collections, The Originals. I love the lilac-infused color of these two lipglasses. Nico has obviously more purple undertones, while Nico Now has a pinker tone to it. Both are breathtaking though, and are beautiful when worn. I wore Nico for this particular look.

Here's a step-by-step illustration. All products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.


Apply Butternutty shadestick all over lid and on lower lashline. Smooth with finger. Using a stiff shader brush (Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" or the MAC 239), apply Coastal Scents' Frenzy mineral shadow foiled on the lid using MAC Fix+ Rose.


Using the other side of the damp shader brush, apply Nasturtium on the crease and outer V. Blend with the MAC 224.


Like so.




Apply Calendula dry to blend with Nasturtium using a clean shader brush. Blend with the 224.


Apply dark brown side of MAC Inter-View mineralize eyeshadow trio on the crease and outer V using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush. Blend harsh edges with the 224. Apply Bare Escentuals shadow liner in Black Ruby wetlined on the upper lashline using the MAC Fix+ Rose. Highlight the browbone using the matte pink shadow from the Pop Beauty Brown Eyes Wallet Palette. Apply mascara. Tightline and waterline using Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero.

Pinks and Reds Using MAC and Aromaleigh

I used this makeup look for a Cardinals Super Bowl party (too bad they lost - boo hoo! - but they played a valiant game and looking forward to more Super Bowl championship games with them). Of course, I donned the Cardinals color and also had to wear shadows that show off their trademark hues. I used Aromaleigh Gothic Lolita mineral shadows and MAC's Danger Zone mineralize eyeshadow trio. Here are some of the products I used:





Here's a step-by-step illustration. All products MAC unless otherwise noted.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion on lid and browbone. Smooth with finger. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Fresco Rose paint pot on lid.


Apply Aromaleigh Gothic Lolita shadow in Little Craving wet using mixing medium on lid using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" shader brush (or the 239).


Using another Maxine's Mop brush, apply Aromaleigh Gothic Lolita shadow in Strawberry Despair dry on crease. Blend using the 224 brush.


Using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply black side of Danger Zone on crease. Blend into Strawberry Despair using the 224 brush.


Using the 227, highlight browbone using Almond Icing shadow.


Using the 224, apply red side of Danger Zone over the black, blending carefully.


Apply Little Craving on inner to mid lower lashline foiled and on tearducts. Apply black side of Danger Zone on mid to outer lashline using Sonia Kashuk pointed mini-crease brush. Line using Blacktrack fluidline. Tightline and waterline using UD 24/7 liner in Zero. Apply Ardell falsies #109. Apply mascara.









I used Cory mineral foundation in Beyond Cream, Silk Naturals silk finishing powder in Date Bait, Earthen Glow mineral blush in Medium Naples topped with MAC beauty powder in Alpha Girl (Heatherette collection). I used MAC Back To Del Rio and Noveau Frou lipsticks topped with NARS lipglass in Turkish Delight.
