Soft Pinks, Lilacs and Browns Using MAC and Aromaleigh

I did this look quickly so I didn't have time for a step-by-step illustration. I wore my MAC Lavender Whip cremesheen lipstick. I love, love, love it. It's the perfect lilac/lavender on my lips and as I said in the previous entry, I love purple-based lipsticks. I also wore for the first time Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonic Rouge in Candy-O and it is a beautiful cotton candy pink! I used Aromaleigh's fibre optic blush brush and just tapped a very small amount of product on a swirly bowl, dipped my brush into it, tapped excess, and applied on my cheeks with a very light hand. It is so pretty! It was very bright, so I buffed it well into the skin and applied a light dusting of Dayna's Glow #2 on top, and the effect is an ethereal pink to me.



I also got the Hello Kitty pigments and I used Milk for this look. Some people say this is identical to Helium or Kitschmas. I have both and they're different from Milk. Milk is a little better in texture, and I love the grayish pink undertones. I also love Deep Blue Green! It's such a gorgeous color as a liner or to smokify eyes.

Sorry to digress! Anyways, I was able to use some of my new MAC products, and I particularly love Soft and Gentle MSF. I compared it to Shimpagne and, though I love both, I think the warmer tones of Soft and Gentle complemented my skin better. In both looks, I used Inter-View mineralize eyeshadow; I used the dark brown shade for the crease. In both instances as well, I used my new favorite dazzleglass, Baby Sparks. I am soooo in love with the dazzleglasses. I wasn't able to get the other ones this weekend for lack of time. Here's some great news, though: you can Back-2-MAC for dazzleglasses at your local MAC free-standing store! That is, you can exchange six empties for any one of the dazzleglasses at any MAC free-standing store. That news made my day last Thursday, because dazzleglasses are more expensive than lipglasses, so it's like I got more value for my empties when I exchanged them for dazzleglasses.

A Couple of Looks, Target Haul and New Pure Anada Shades

Took me a couple of minutes to think about the title for this entry; it contains a hodge-podge of topics! Anyways, here are a couple of looks I've been meaning to post. The first one features Eye Lustre shadows from Aromaleigh, while in the second, I used MAC Blonde's Gold pigment and one of my Meow Feliners (mineral liners), Sex Kitty. It was also one of the rare times I used bold, red lip color.









I wore Joppa soft coverage mineral foundation in Light-medium #3 mixed with Joppa full coverage foundation in Light #3 (50-50 mix), Joppa Simple Radiance finishing silk in Medium, Aromaleigh eye lustre in Cosette foiled on lid, Aromaleigh eye lustre in Persephone foiled on outer V and crease, MAC shadow in Ricepaper to highlight, Almay liquid eyeliner, MAC Graphblack technakohl to line. On the cheeks I used Aromaleigh Pure Rouge blush in Pashmina topped with Dayna's Glow #2. On the lips I used MAC Whirl lipliner, MAC Lightly Ripe lipstick, MAC Major Minor lipglass.









I used MAC Blonde's Gold pigment foiled on the lid, MAC Bronze eyeshadow on outer V, MAC Dark Edge shadow on crease, MAC Femme Fi shadow to highlight. I used Meow Feliner in Sex Kitty wetlined on upper lashline, Graphblack technakohl on waterline and to tightline, Dayna's Minerals Coral Breeze blush with Dayna's Glow #1 on top of blush. On lips I used MAC Whirl lipliner with MAC Red Romp lipglass.



I just received some free samples of Pure Anada's new yellow/golden shades from Candace (Pure Anada's owner). She is so generous to send me full sizes to try. Thanks so much Candace! Most of the asian mineral makeup enthusiasts that I have encountered find it hard to nail their shade in Pure Anada, prompting Candace to custom-make shades that suit our skintone. She told me in her letter enclosed with the products that she lives in a small community that doesn't have a large representation of ethnic groups, so she is excited about this opportunity to whip up shades to cater to the asian skintone. I will let you guys know if one of these is my perfect match. I can't wait to roadtest this!

NOTE to Pure Anada users (I know you're all out there!): If Golden Harvest would be classified as "Light Gold", Candace says these new shades are "Medium Gold" and "Deep Gold".



I went to Target today and picked up another bent eyeliner and crease brushes from Sonia Kashuk, and I got the very last blending sponge (also by SK) on the shelf! I've heard about the amazing Beauty Blender sponge, but Sonia Kashuk has a dupe for half the price of the Beauty Blender, and I've heard raves about this latter sponge as well. I can't wait to try this out.

Aromaleigh: Plums and Wine on Grass

Another fast one! The lengths I have to go through to run to have internet access! ;P Anyways, here's a look featuring Aromaleigh Rocks! Sonics eyehadow in Grass as liner, and PlumWine Pure Rouge as blush. I'm liking the blushes from AL, each blush has a different finish/texture, I noticed, and not all are as shimmery/satiny/matte as the others.

Dayna's Minerals and Aromaleigh Pure Rouge Blushes

Hey everyone, was able to log in, so here I am! Will be a bit quick, though. Just want to share with you some of my latest acquisitions, and I am loving them.

I bought all 2004 Pure Rouge samples of Aromaleigh (there were I think 20 of them), and I'm loving the texture and application. I love that even though each bag/shade contains 1/4 teaspoon of product (which I think is pretty adequate), you only use so little for each application. I took some shots using one of them, but they are in the other camera, so I will post them once I get to have internet connection again (grrr!).



I also received my full sizes of Dayna's Minerals. It was so nice of Dayna to ship them via Priority Mail (for free) because I told her I would need them before I left for my vacation. I am loving my Dayna's foundation in Peeg. I think it is my closest shade, although I think it would suit me better during winter/fall. I can always mix it with P1 to make it a little darker to go with my tan.

Neutral Eyes with Non-Neutral Liner

Here is a look using neutral-hued eyeshadows by DreamWorld and The She Space, and lined by blue Meow Feliner (mineral liner). I am glad that I used mostly mineral makeup for this look, as I want to show that one can actually create a look using all (or mostly) mineral products. The only non-mineral products I used were my highlighter for the brows, base, my cream concealer, and lip products.

I used Dayna's Minerals blush in Pur-fection for the first time. It's a gorgeous purple matte blush that comes out deep rose pink on my cheeks. I love that it's matte because it's just perfect with Dayna's glows. I love matte blushes because in my experience, they last a lot longer on the skin than shimmer blushes. I also don't look like a disco ball with matte blushes, should I decide to apply glows over them.

DreamWorld/MAC Pigment Hauls and A Pink Look

My DreamWorld haul finally arrived yesterday. I'm super stoked about it. I got all pigment samples from the following "worlds": Summer of Danger, Atlantis, and Mother Earth, Father Sky. The Summer of Danger collection is limited edition, so I grabbed samples of the pigments because they really looked pretty on the site. The colors did not disappoint in real life. I can't wait to try them out.

I also got a full size jar of Peach creme topping (finishing powder) in the clay/silica formula. I am amazed that Ellie of DreamWorld has totally revamped the concept of "finishing powder". Before, finishing powder was just mineral veil, or some other name for a translucent setting powder. When DreamWorld came, not only did finishing powders come in different translucent colors to choose from with yummy-sounding names (Banana Creme, anyone? How about Raspberry creme, Iced creme, Whipped creme, Butter creme, Butterscotch, Peanut Butter creme? Or Maybe Whipped Strawberries?), but the products also come in different formulas to suit any skin type. Do you have dry, sensitive, mature skin? Choose the creme toppings in the silk formula. Have acne-prone, oily skin? Choose the clay and silica or clay/no silica formula to soak up the excess oil. Ellie is also creating a formula for those with dry skin but cannot tolerate silk powder. The choices are just endless!! There are also primers (called "underlings" in DreamWorld) that come in different formulas to suit different skin types, because every skin is different.

I also got most of the glo worms in sample baggies. Can't wait to try these, especially the Honey Glo (the glo counterpart of Butter creme) and Quartz Glo (the counterpart of Raspberry creme topping).


Included in my DreamWorld haul were my full size Ra's Chariot eyeshadow (a beautiful gold/cream color with undertones of green), and my free (well, almost free; paid a penny for it) lippie in Adventure.


I got these wonderful pigments in a swap with a nice lady from MUA. I especially loved the MAC Vanilla pigment (very versatile product - can be used anywhere to highlight, or as an eyeshadow) and the Butterfly eyeshadow from Bare Escentuals. It's a lovely butter-colored, silky smooth eyeshadow that can be used as a highlight or blender color to blend out harsh eyeshadow colors on the lid.


These swatches were applied wet, but I swear, Vanilla looks much better applied dry with a base.





Finally, here is a pink look featuring MAC products and Dayna's Mineral Glow in Violet Vesper. I've been receiving requests for me to feature the Lustre Twins on my lips as well, so here you go.
