Greens and Olives Using Aromaleigh En Pointe Mineral Shadows

I got some samples of the new limited edition eyeshadow collection from Aromaleigh, the En Pointe. It celebrates the art of dance/ballet. I used two of the green-hued shadows from this collection for this look. I can't wait to use the rose and pink colors from this collection (signature colors of ballet) because they are just gorgeous. For this look, though, greens are the focal point.


Here are the specific shadows I used.


I also used my favorite dark hunter green, Grand Entrance from the Holiday '08 Warm Eyes Palette.






I used MAC Joyous beauty powder topped with Redhead MSF, and used the 6-piece blush and contour palette to contour.

All products Aromaleigh unless otherwise noted.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy brush, apply MAC paint pot in Greenstroke on lid. Using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" brush, apply Waltz foiled on the lid using MAC Charged Water.


Using the same brush, apply Arabesque damp on outer lid.


Using a clean Loew Cornell brush, apply Amarante dry on crease and outer V.


Using the same brush, apply Holy Grail on outer lid and crease, blending into Amarante. Blend using the MAC 224 brush.




Apply MAC Grand Entrance shadow using Sonia Kashuk blender brush.


Apply more Grand Entrance and blend more with the 224. Using the MAC 227 brush, apply MAC Sweet Joy eyeshadow on the browbone.


Apply Indelible gel liner in Endangered to line. Apply Arabesque on inner lower lashline, and Holy Grail on outer lower lashline. Apply Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero to tightline and on waterline.


Apply mascara

Orange Kiwi Smoothie Look Using Aromaleigh Mineral Eyeshadows

Here's an orange-kiwi smoothie look using some of my lovely Aromaleigh mineral eyeshadows. I used Tigrilla and Cricket from the limited edition L'orchidee collection, Amarante from the Bete Noire collection, and Holy Grail Pure Hue eyeshadow. I went to the MAC counter wearing this, and two MAC MAs complimented me on the look. I really love the combination of colors, and I think this would be one of my favorite looks.

Here's a step-by-step illustration. All items Aromaleigh unless otherwise noted.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid, brows, lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply MAC paint pots in Perky on inner lid, and Greenstroke on outer lid.


Using a stiff shader brush (MAC 239 or Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8", apply Tigrilla dry on inner lid.


Using another stiff shader brush, apply Cricket dry on middle of the lid.


Using the same brush, apply Amarante dry on outer lid.




Using the same brush, apply Holy Grail dry on the outer V and crease. Blend the colors in quick, sweeping motions in one direction with the MAC 217 brush.


Apply a light gold eyeshadow on the browbone using Stila brush no. 5.


Using a Loew Cornell American Painter 4300 taklon brush, apply Tigrilla damp on inner lower lashline. Wipe color down using a wet wipe, take Cricket and apply on mid lower lashline, and Holy Grail on outer lower lashline.


Like so.


Apply MAC Blacktrack fluidline on upper lashline. Apply Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero to tightline and on waterline. Apply Red Cherry falsies #66. Apply mascara.

Greys and Silvers Using MAC Eyeshadows

Happy Easter everyone! Hope everybody is doing great on this joyous occasion. :)

Here's a look using MAC eyeshadows (as promised, I really want to do more looks using my MAC products). Today I used my eyeshadows from the Chill collection - Arctic Grey and Mont Black. I love these shades- they are very versatile and the colors are very classy.




To highlight, I used Pincurl from the Brunette Blonde Redhead collection.


I also used Silver Ring and Knight Divine for this look.

I tried my new POP Beauty blush cake in Pretty in Pink. I bought it from Beautycrunch.com again (haul post coming up soon). I've heard much about this blush, and I was glad I got it for only $7 something. It was a pretty good buy and a pretty good product as well.




On top of the blush, I used Perfect Topping MSF from the Sugar Sweet collection.


To contour, I used Coastal Scents' 6-piece blush and contour palette.

All products MAC unless otherwise stated.


Apply Urban Decay primer potion all over lid and browbone, brows and on the lower lashline. Blend with finger. Using a Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" shader brush (or the 239 brush), apply Arctic Grey on the lid in quick patting motions.


Apply Silver Ring on the outer lid using Sonia Kashuk blender brush. Blend well using the 224.




Using the 226 brush, apply Knight Divine on the crease and outer V. Blend with the 224.


Using Coastal Scents small crease badger brush (similar to the 219), draw Mont Black in a V shape on your outer lid. Blend out using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush and the 224. Using Stila Brush no. 5, apply Pincurl on the browbone and inner corners to highlight. Apply Blacktrack fluidline on the waterline and upper lashline. Tightline using Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Using Sonia Kashuk mini crease/detail brush, apply Silver Ring inner lower lashline, and Mont Black on outer lower lashline. Apply Red Cherry falsies #15. Apply mascara.

Coastal Scents Contour and Blush Palette, and 10 Piece Professional Blush Palette

I just received the 6 Piece Contour and Blush palette, as well as the 10 Piece Professional Blush palette, both from Coastal Scents. I haven't tried them yet for looks, but I have swatched them on the cheeks and on my hand. Here are my initial thoughts:

First of all, I don't know why I bought these. They are pretty, alright, but I was not as thrilled when I received them as when I got the 28 Neutral and the 88 Original and 88 Shimmer palettes. I admit, though, they are very beautiful and they are such eye candy. Let's start off with the 6 Piece Contour and Blush palette.



This palette has been all over YouTube and other beauty blogs, and I have not heard/read anything but raves for this. I believe I like this palette more than the 10 Piece Professional Blush one. The shades are very wearable and the highlight colors are pretty universal. I don't think I would be able to use the highlighters much because I prefer my mineral glows and MAC mineralize skinfinishes as highlighters. If you don't have decent highlighters, though, this palette would be very useful for a wide variety of looks. Like everybody else, I will be using the middle bottom color for contouring purposes. As I said, I have not roadtested this yet, so I have yet to see if this is the same or better/inferior to other bronzers/contour shades that I've tried. I will be posting a follow-up review of these palettes. The other blush shades are pretty pigmented, and I love that these are freakin' HUGE because it's going to be so easy to swirl my brush on each shade.



I just noticed that Coastal Scents has printed a logo on the front cover of the palette, which I find a little odd considering that this is basically a generic blush/contour palette that you can find almost everywhere on Ebay. I know that these originated from China, and that Coastal Scents resells these. Maybe they just want to have their name on the front of the product to kind of advertise the fact that they do sell these palettes.



The 10 Piece Professional Blush palette is gorgeous, but unfortunately, some of these shades are much too sheer. Some of them are chalky as well, but some are really pigmented and they apply smoothly. The ultimate test is when I use the product for a look, so I reserve my final review for later. Right now, though, I am a little disappointed that I cannot wear all shades as some are very sheer. Also, I have so many blushes that can be dupes for these shades, so I am honestly at a loss why I even bought this. I might eventually have to re-sell or maybe give this away, as it really didn't thrill me as much as my other palettes did. I don't know; we'll see.
