Target Short Sleeve V-Neck Cropped T-Shirt

I have never ever encountered a 5-dollar shirt at Target until I came upon the Wild Fable Short Sleeve V-Neck Cropped T-shirt.  It was not even on clearance, but regularly-priced at $5.  I got the colors black and white, just very basic tops for casual errand days, or for layering under a cardigan since it is getting a wee bit cooler.  This is the most inexpensive clothing piece I've ever bought at Target, and I of course washed it before wearing; no shrinking whatsoever even after putting it in the dryer.  I love that it doesn't pill, and there is no unraveling at the seams either after washing.  

The only con to this item is that it runs quite small.  I am usually an extra-small when I shop at Target, but I am wearing a medium in the photo.  Also, it is very cropped.  I would advise wearing a high-waisted bottom if you don't want your midriff to show.  There is a non-cropped version of this for $8.  Again, for a Target shirt, that is quite a bargain.

One of my favorite denim shorts is on sale today - and the sale ends today (Edit: As of 5/3, 20% off sale of Target shorts is currently going on online).  I love Target's Universal Thread™ Light Wash High-Rise Fray Hem Jean Shorts.  All the attributes of my favorite shorts are in this particular pair.  First of all, they are high-rise.  I don't buy jeans or shorts that are not high-rise anymore.  I decluttered all my low and mid-rise pairs quite a while ago.  High-rise silhouettes flatter my body type better, and give a more seamless look to tops over jeans or jean shorts.  Second, they are light-wash.  I used to hate light-wash denim and only preferred dark wash because it looks more formal.  However, if I want to look more carefree, and during those breezy and I-really-can't-be-bothered days, I choose light-wash.  Light wash denim also looks amazing with white tops (which is actually one of my goals - to build a white wardrobe).  Thirdly, the fray hem all the more lends to the easy-going look of this pair.  The big factor that makes it a little more pulled-together is the button-fly closure.  I LOVE button fly denim.  It may be a bit fussier than zipper closures but I like the classier, more unusual look.  I particularly love the fact that this has gold buttons instead of silver.

This pair is very comfortable.  I am a size 2 and it fits true-to-size.  I also love that I can throw this in the washer and dryer and it won't shrink.  Denim fabric is also soft and has a nice feel.

Springy Floral Nail Art Using Nail Polishes Found at Target

 Spring is here, and what better way to celebrate it than spring-y nail color and nail art!
  Spring calls for floral shades and floral nail art.  It's pretty easy to do nail art, especially with flowers.  All you need are vibrant spring shades, and a dotting tool, or even a toothpick.

I practiced dotting my design on a piece of cardboard; I poured small pools of the shades to dip my dotting tool in to create my design.

You can find a wide variety of nail polish shades and nail care products from Target.  For this particular springy floral nail art design, I used Covergirl Outlast in #285 Mint Mojito, Maybelline New York Color Show nail lacquer in #320 Green With Envy from the permanent collection, and a limited edition Maybelline New York Color Show nail lacquer in #920 Coral Glow.

I also used the Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat to seal my nail art and create a glossy, shiny finish.

Target Spring Beauty: Bright Eye Makeup Look Using Revlon & L'oreal

Spring has sprung!  What better way to celebrate spring than to create springy, bright eye looks!  I chose to use green because as we all know, Saint Paddy's Day is fast approaching, and green is most often the color of spring.

In the look below, I opted to use two of the eye shadow palettes available at Target.  Using a stiff shader brush, I applied the green in the  Revlon Colorstay 16-Hour Eyeshadow palette in Inspired, a very fresh, garden green, on my lid.  Using the Sonia Kashuk crease/blender brush that you can also find at Target, I added a lighter purple from the L'Oreal Colour Riche Brazen Bold Eye Shadow palette in 313 Neon Skirt on the crease, as well as the darker purple from the Revlon Colorstay palette.   I blended the gradient colors together using a blender brush.

Using a big fluffy shader brush, I used the white highlight shadow from the Revlon palette to highlight the browbone and inner corners.

I like this look because even though it's bright, it is very wearable and flatters a lot of eye colors, especially brown eyes.  I also used the Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner Pen to line my upper lashline.  I also used the same green in the Revlon Colorstay palette to line my lower lashline.  Of course, don't forget to use a base or eye primer before you apply your eyeshadows for crease-free wear and longer staying power.

To finish the look, I applied false lashes and mascara.

Target Spring Beauty Finds and a Springtime Look

Spring is finally in the air!  The air is warmer, the ice and snow have melted, and we can't wait to wear our strappy heels and airy dresses for spring.  Target has a host of products that makes us feel that spring is totally upon us.  Spring shades of makeup are also on Target shelves that depict happy, bright and bold colors that herald the coming of warmer weather.

Going to Target to shop for makeup and nail polish has always been what I call my "Me Time". I drop off my son to martial arts class, then I head off to the nearest Target to browse the new spring shades while I wait for my son's class to finish. I love how bright and totally saturated with color the Maybelline Color Vivids are. I like that Maybelline heard our clamor for really bright, fun and head-turning lip color. I also love how rich, vibrant the color is, and how it glides smoothly on the lips without creating patchy areas. I am honestly a fan of the Maybelline Vivids, so much so that I was able to collect seven Maybelline Color Vivids! Here are three of the shades:

As you can see in the swatches, the shades are super color-saturated, opaque and very pigmented.  You don't really need to pile on the product; just a couple of swipes will really build up the color.

In this look, I am wearing Maybelline Vivid lipstick in Brazen Berry.  I am loving how pretty the pink-purple shade is.  It just brightens my complexion.

Nicole by OPI She's Lily Something over A Like-Haley Story

I am an avid nail polish fan and I firmly believe that if you invest in skincare and makeup for your face, you should not forget your nails!  Nicole by OPI has a lot of beautiful shades and different textures and finishes that meet every nail polish enthusiast's needs (and wants!).  Target carries the entire collection of Nicole by OPI Modern Family.  In the photos above, I used a combination of two polishes, Nicole by OPI She's Lily Something over A Like-Haley Story.  She's Lily something is a beautiful sheer pink base with pink micro-glitter and huge holographic star glitter.
