Zoya True Collection Swatches and Review

Here are some swatches and review of the new Zoya True collection that comes out January 13, 2012 at www.zoya.com. This is a nice collection of spring colors with cream and metallic finishes that is a nice way to welcome 2012.

Cho

Cho is described as full coverage, vanilla shimmer metallic. It took two coats to make this opaque. I love that this is not a straight cream but it has a slight shimmer to it. I love the opacity, and it makes the hands and nails look clean.

Farah

Farah reminds me of latte. True enough, when I checked Zoya's description, I was spot on; it is described as latte beige cream. I am not so sure if I like it on my nails, though. I love that it is opaque, but it's neither light nor dark, so I don't know if this looks great on my skintone. I know this will look great on lighter or darker complexions than mine, but I am on the fence about this.

Bevin

I am in love with Bevin. Ugh. In person it is a beautiful pale sage green cream. I kept admiring it on my nails while I was taking swatch photos. It reminds me of my favorite Essie School of Hard Rocks, although the latter is darker. One of my favorites in this collection.

Skylar

Skylar is another pretty color. It is a silvered slate blue metallic that reminds me a lot of Essie Smooth Sailing, but Skylar is dustier. Love this color.

Tru

Aaargh! Another gorgeous shade! Tru is described as a gilded purple orchid metallic. It has beautiful flecks of gold shimmer. Reminds me American Apparel's African Violet in shade, but AV is a straight creme.

Lotus

Lotus is described as a full coverage, light lotus purple metallic. It is dustier than Tru but it has the same amazing shimmer finish with tiny shimmer flecks. Since I am a sucker for purples, I am loving this shade as well.

All in all, I love all the shades in this collection except for the two light ones. The darker ones are fantastic in both the shades and finish. I think this metallic shimmer (which is not really a true metallic finish, but sort of a shimmery creme) is my favorite out of all Zoya finishes. I am a creme finish lover, but sometimes I want some shimmer in my polish, just like those glorious old OPI finishes that are so rare nowadays. I just love these shimmer fleck-infused polishes from Zoya. Formula was easy to apply, and as I said, is pretty much opaque in two coats.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
