Green Eye Look Using MAC and Aromaleigh Mineral Eye Shadows

Here is a look using one of my favorite indie mineral makeup brands, Aromaleigh. You can see on this blog's Labels that most of my mineral eye shadow looks are from Aromaleigh. I like that the shades are quite pigmented, rich, and not just mere mica shimmer bombs that have no color pay-off. I also like that these shadows are very blendable. Aromaleigh closed down a year ago, only for it to resurrect itself under new management last year, which made me so happy. I have a ton of mineral shadows, and most of them are Aromaleigh's. Re-opening its doors mean I can now get more Aromaleigh shadows and other products to experiment with!

This is a green eyeshadow look, and green is one of my favorite colors on my eyes (well, green IS my favorite color). Green looks phenomenal on brown eyes, so you brown-eyed ladies, keep that in mind!

I like that Aromaleigh sells samples that you can purchase to test out a particular shade before you commit to a full-sized product. I mostly use samples in baggies now because it's so much easier to see the colors as compared to checking the products out in jars. I keep my sample baggies in a magnetic photo album like this:

It is infinitely easier to see the shades and conjure color combinations using this method. Also, the sample baggies may look miniscule, but really, a little goes a long way. I have to admit that I have been a customer of Aromaleigh since 2008 or 2009, and I have yet to consume one sample baggie!

Anyways, I used the above shadows for this green look. I used Regulus from the Starry Night collection (review and swatches coming soon!), as well as Arabesque from the En Pointe collection, Midnight Mess from the new Holly-Days collection (review also coming up), and Poison Utopia from Victoria's Revenge collection, one of my all-time faves from Aromaleigh.

I also used one of my favorite greens from MAC, Grand Entrance from the Holiday '08 6 Warm Eye Shadow palette.

MAC Nubile paint pot as base
MAC Cash Flow paint pot on lid
Aromaleigh Arabesque on lid with a slightly damp stiff shader brush
Aromaleigh Regulus on crease using same brush
MAC Grand Entrance on outer V using Sonia Kashuk blender brush, blend with 224 brush
Aromaleigh Midnight Mess and a tiny bit of Poison Utopia on crease, blend with 224
Highlight browbone with MAC Sweet Joy eyeshadow from same palette
Hard Candy liquid liner on upper lashline
MAC Chromagraphic pencil in NC30 on waterline
black pencil liner on tightline
Regulus on lower lashline using a flat liner brush
false lashes
mascara

Wow, I'm so happy that Aromaleigh relaunched. I have no idea why it's taken me so long to realize this.
