Here is a sneak peek of the items from two of the MAC Holiday collections, namely Glitter and Ice (the colour collection), and the Ice Parade (brush sets, Iced Delights bags, and eyeshadow palettes). The Dazzlesphere! mini pigments, mini-lipglass and mini-nail lacquers shall debut around the second week of November. I was able to attend the unveiling for the Glitter and Ice and Ice Parade collections, and here are some pictures and swatches I took during the event. Check out my MAC Holiday 2011: Ice Parade Brush Sets, Lip and Eye Bags, and Eyeshadow x6 Palettes Swatches and Initial Review.

Paintpots: For Effect, Morning Frost, Let's Skate

For the Glitter and Ice colour collection, it's all about the eye products for me. I am really loving the paint pots, maybe because I am such a sucker for these. One of the girls who were at the event told me that she was disappointed that For Effect was not as black as she had thought it would be. It is actually described as black with pearl, so it's really a shimmering kind of black. This is great for those with smokey eyes who still want a shimmering kind of base underneath so that the black is not too dark. It's a very pretty charcoal. Morning Frost is a perfect neutral paint pot, a shimmering champagne taupe. This is also great for nighttime looks when you want the inner corners of the eyes to shimmer to balance out dark or dramatic looks. Let's Skate is an unusual one. Very pale and not your usual glittery pale like Chilled on Ice paint pot. It's quite creamy and I think this would make a great base for pale lid looks or to lighten up a darker shadow.

The mineralize eye shadows are pigmented and they glide well on the skin. My favorites would be Snow Season, which is a soft taupe melange, and Hold the Pose!, a pale mauve melange. Other nice ones are Frozen Blue, a blue silver melange (love the icy blue!), Shimmermint, a pale green melange. The darkest one in this collection is Winterized, a dirty purple with silver, indigo, and pink melange. Fresh Ice is a white silver melange, which would make a great highlight for browbone or inner corners. As with past mineralize eyeshadows, you can foil these (apply wet), and the colors will intensify and become more metallic.

The Technakohl liners are all pigmented and glide easily on the skin, but there's not one that's calling out to me, except maybe the black and white. You can never have too many black and white kohl pencils.

The nail lacquers are divine, especially Unconditionally Fabulous, a super sparkle white (with glittes) and Festive Finery, a dirty midtone greyed violet. This is what most of us call "grurple" (greyed purple), and this was one of the "it" colors for 2010, and even 2011. Many of us nail fanatics are also suckers for glitter, so Unconditionally Fabulous is amazing for the holidays. Get Noticed! is nothing special especially if you have a lot of reds. This is just your regular bright red creme. Don't be afraid to try out MAC nail lacquers. I think the formula has improved during the past year, and it is no longer as chippy as the past releases.

Lipsticks:

Such Flare, What Joy!, Such Flare

Soft Sable, Double Spin, Eloquent Air

Whirls & Twirls, Soft Sable

I am loving What Joy!. I love wearing these dark, vampy lippies for fall, and this just fits my style to a T. It is a deep berry in the satin formula, which I love, because satins are very pigmented and are not splotchy on the lips. My next favorite is Whirls & Twirls, a sheer pink glaze with gold pearl. This tanned MA wore this last night and layered with Glitter and Ice dazzleglass, and it lookes SO good on her; such a great combo. Double Spin is a pale pink mauve cremesheen that might work well on my lips with maybe a darker lipliner or lipglass. Such Flare is a true red matte, so if you need a festive matte red, this is for you. Soft Sable is another favorite, because I love greyish lippies. This is a cool frosted taupe, so this is quite up my alley. Lastly, Eloquent Air is a sheer white silver glaze that is too pale for my skintone, so I don't really care for it.

Beauty Powders:

Snowglobe, How Beautiful

Snowglobe is a frosted pinky beige, while How Beautiful! is a pale shimmering taupe.  I like the latter because I don't have a shimering taupe beauty powder as far as I can remember.  However, Snowglobe is such a beautiful glowy pink-beige highlighter, it can suit a wide variety of skintones.

Dazzleglass:

I wasn't able to swatch the Dazzleglasses because there were too many people crowding the display at that time, but I will swatch these as soon as they are out. As I previously mentioned, my favorite is Glitter and Ice, a light nude with white and gold pearl. Dressed to Dazzle is another favorite, a pale dirty pink with red and gold pearl. She-zam is a sheer silver with silver and gold pearl. The red dazzleglass you see is in the above photos is Love Alert, a raspberry red with red pearl. Spanking Rich is a raspberry pink with red and gold pearl.

Hi! I'm attracted to snowglobe, but I'm not sure. Have you noticed shiny particles in it? This information is important to me because it's impossible for me to see the product in person before I buy online. Thank you :)
