MAC Posh Paradise Mattenes and Paint Pots Complete Swatches and Review

A couple of days ago, I featured sort of a sneak peek on some of the shades from the Posh Paradise Mattenes and paint pots, and also my overall impression of the paint pots and mattenes. To know more about my thoughts, check out my MAC Posh Paradise Mattenes and Paint Pots initial swatches and review.

In this entry, I will combine swatches from both the Mattenes and paint pots, and my thoughts on the other shades that I didn't get to review.

Nubile

Nubile, Pure Creation, Hyper Violet, Half-Wild

Nubile, Pure Creation

Hyper-Violet, Half-Wild

I got Nubile; it is wonderful. It's in the same family as Soft Ochre and Painterly. Nubile is a neutral compared to Soft Ochre which is yellowish and Painterly which has pinkish tones. Nubile is a little on the peachy side but still neutral, and the peach tones make the skin look a little brighter. I used it as my base today and it is great to even out skintone on the lid area, and it made my shadows glide well on the lids. It's on its eighth hour on and my shadows are still crease-free and vibrant.

Pure Creation is a frosty blue that I am not a fan of. I don't like frosty blues. Ick.

Hyper-Violet is another one of those cream paint pots that can double as a fluidline. Very rich and pigmented. Beautiful dark, deep violet.

Half-Wild is a mid-tone purple. Great for lilac, pink or any cool-toned eye look. This is also a cream and very pigmented.

I already reviewed the other four paint pots in a previous entry. Click the link above for the review.

Mattene Lipstick:

Deliciously Forbidden, Seeds of Desire, Naked Bliss

As I had mentioned, Mattenes are perfect for fall because of their rich, saturated colors, and matte really gives a feeling of the coming of colder weather.

These new Mattenes are not as drying and as matte as the old ones. MAC describes these as semi-matte, and they are. They glide easy on the lips and I like the saturated colors. I already described the three that I own in a previous post (see link above).

Eden Rouge is a bright blue red that is like a fire-engine red to me. Very festive!

Legendary is a mid-tone brick red that is not a favorite of mine as I don't like terracotta colors on my lips.

Unknown Pleasures is a deep red blue that is just gorgeous. I believe this is going to be another bestseller. Beautiful, classic, and very fall-holiday in color.

Rare Exotic is a mid-tone blue pink. This is a fuchsia mattene that would look great on most skintones. I thought this was a bubblegum pink but it is actually a fuchsia/magenta tone. Lovely.

Delectable is an orange-beige that for some reason reminds me of Peachstock. They might not be all that alike as I have to swatch them next to each other.

Potent Fig is a deep blue grape that I don't think I can pull off, but it is strangely mesmerizing.

Fresh Amour is a light lavender in the family of Lavender Whip. Very pretty.

As an update on my review on the Mattenes, I've been wearing Naked Bliss and Deliciously Forbidden these past three days and I am really liking the combination (I layer them). I also like the texture of these mattenes; they are not very matte. At first, I really was a bit skeptical because I am not into uber-matte lips, but I am liking this new mattene's texture compared to the old ones I'd tried three years ago. It's not a true matte but kind of a soft matte, which gives more pigment but less drying, and it gives a soft sheen that I really like.

Which ones of these paint pots and mattenes caught your eye?

Note: Media sample was provided by a representative of the company for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
