Innisfree Trouble Care Blemish Balm (BB) Cream Review

I'd been searching for my entry of this on my blog and I just realized I was never able to make one! I am so sorry, as Innisfree Trouble Care is one of my favorite BB creams so far. It has SPF 27 so I really like that it has sunscreen too. I've made reviews on a handful of BB cream brands, and I still have a lot more to come, so keep your eyes peeled!

I've already explained (and I'm sure most of you know by now) what BB cream is. For those who don't, here's a succinct explanation from my BB cream seller:

ALL IN ONE FUNCTION - sun protection + makeup base + skin coverage + foundation for 24hrs

WHITENING & SKIN CARE FORMULA
- Acts effectively on irritated skin, concealing dermal blemish and helps skin rejuvenation with innovative active ingredient
- Blocks the penetration of UV rays and other harmful factors
- This silicon-based formula defines a natural, long lasting complexion with gentle calming effects of natural, plant-derived soothing particles not only on oily and sensitive skin, but also on irritated skin following peel care.

Good For: Skin that needs protection, irritated skin by peeling and laser procedures, sensitive and troubled skin.

As for this particular brand of BB cream (Innisfree), it is said to be a Tea Tree herbal BB cream that covers blemishes; it has bergamot and lily extracts that soothe troubled skin, and has Vitamin A derivative and Centella asiatica that protect the skin.

Disclaimer: I can't read Korean so I cannot confirm the aforesaid information based on the packaging. Also, I will not be doing a review on its skincare claims because I have not used this product long enough to make a conclusion on this. I will be doing a review simply based on the finish, texture, coverage and staying power of the BB cream as a tinted moisturizer/foundation.

(See the rest of the review and a look using Innisfree BB cream after the jump)

As for the texture, it is just perfect: not too goopy or runny like let's say Missha Watery; it's a tad thicker than Beauty Credit Lovely Green Tea BB Cream, but not as thick as Skinfood either. The coverage is medium and very smooth, very even. The swatch on the hand was not evenly blended, but it was my fault, not the product's. As with other BB creams, it has something in it that gives the skin a certain dewy, luminous appearance that makes skin supple and youthful. Staying power was pretty good for a BB cream, although mineral makeup is still tops when it comes to staying power.

As with my other BB creams, I apply this as follows: I place a small amount on the back of my hand, take my Coastal Scents's kabuki-on-a-stick brush, and apply the product on my face in circular, buffing motions till it is blended seamlessly. I apply another light layer as needed. I top off with a very light layer of mineral foundation, just enough to set the BB cream, then a light dusting of translucent powder to help in oil control.

I used a small amount of DreamWorld mineral foundation in Theia over Innisfree Trouble Care BB cream.

Upside:

1. Very affordable compared to high end or department store tinted moisturizers; I bought it on Ebay for $20 including shipping for a 35 ml. product, and you only need to use a dime size amount for each application. You can apply more if needed, but in light layers.

2. Makes skin look luminous and radiant.

3. Can be used as a tinted moisturizer or a makeup base.

4. Most importantly, it has sunscreen (SPF27 PA++)

Downside:

1. As with most BB creams, if you have sensitive skin, you might break out using this product. This didn't break me out, though, and this is one of the few ones that didn't. Caveat: I don't use this every day, though. I realized that I cannot use BB creams on a daily basis, no matter what brand, because it WILL break me out. BB creams are comedogenic on my skin (clog pores) and they make my skin react. I realized that I cannot use BB creams more than twice a week, or else my skin will really put up a fight. My go-to everyday foundation is still mineral makeup.

2. Only comes in one shade.

All in all, though, this brand is one of the best BB creams I've tried. If you are thinking of trying BB creams, I suggest this brand. The finish is seamless and flawless and it just gives this dewy finish that I love.

Sis Aileen, which one do you like best? Innisfree or Beauty Credit?

thiamere- thanks girl! And I thought Innisfree is one of the more popular ones. :)

Gale- they're both in my top 3 out of the ones I've tried so far. It's a toss up, really, but if I have to choose, I'd go with Innisfree. :)

you are too cute Aileen, you're trying so many bb creams now and the funny thing, I've stopped trying on bb creams..with your reviews and photos, you made me want to go back on trying BB creams :D

Nikki-hehe, I am just trying to finish dishing out reviews on the HUGE BB cream stash that I have right now. As I said, I don't use it regularly because MMU is still my go-to foundation, but it's nice to wear BB creams once in a while. What can I say- I "joined" (or let's say tried) the bandwagon too late! :D

Thanks hoarder! :) I like it a lot too! But I like the others too, especially Missha Watery. :)

That's my second favorite on you.LOL Anyway, your reviews and pictures are making me want to venture into BB creams! I've read other reviews ages ago, but it was only when you posted the Missha Watery review that I got really tempted to try them. Wish me luck!

i like this bb cream from innisfree too but currently, i'm using their Mineral Skin BB cream spf40, pa++... i think it's better but overall, i can say that all innisfree bb creams are really good... i don't necessarily use it everyday too. but i definitely use their Mineral No Sebum Primer almost everyday...

I think the coverage is acceptable for this BB cream - though I prefer the dermatological brands from Korea like Dr.Jart! But I think it looks great on you :)

I'm quite curious about the shade. Would you recommend this product to fair-morena complexion?
