Missha Watery Blemish Balm (BB) Cream Review

Missha Watery is another BB cream product that I was able to try, and I consider this one of the top three out of several I've used so far. It has SPF 27 sunscreen, and some people really do use this as a makeup base as opposed to being their main foundation. It has advantages of both a makeup and skincare product. It claims to even out skintone, camouflage undereye circles and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask of traditional foundation. It claims that prolonged use of the product can improve the overall texture of the skin and fade acne marks.

True to its name, it is watery or more runny than most BB creams. It blends easily and well on the face. When I top it off with a light layer of mineral foundation, the effect is beautiful, a dewy finish that looks flawless.

(Review and look using Missha Watery after the jump)

As you can see from the pictures, it has tiny particles that refract light and give off this ethereal glow to the skin, which makes it look more radiant and youthful.

I apply a small amount on the back of my hand, take my Coastal Scents's kabuki-on-a-stick brush, and apply the product on my face in circular, buffing motions till it is blended seamlessly. I apply another light layer as needed. I top off with a very light layer of mineral foundation, just enough to set the BB cream, then a light dusting of translucent powder to help in oil control.

I used Missha Watery topped with DreamWorld mineral foundation in Theia in the look above.

Upside:

1. This is a pretty affordable product, especially if you compare it with department store foundations and liquid makeup. I bought this on Ebay for less than $14 for a 50 ml product, including shipping (all the way from South Korea).

2. Gives a beautiful, ethereal finish.

3. I love the radiance and youthful glow it gives.

Downside:

1. Oil control is not that good. You can help by using a primer and oil mattifier (I use MAC Prep + Prime Skin Refined Zone).

2. If you have sensitive skin, you might break out using this product.

3. Comes in very limited shades, I think these only come in one or two shades at the most.

All in all, though, if you are not into matte makeup and would like a dewy finish with additional benefits to the skin, I highly recommend Missha Watery. I have not used it enough to make a conclusion as to its skincare claims, but the gorgeous, flawless finish is what reeled me in. It gives this youthful glow that I really love. For those in the U.S. and would like to try this product, it's very easy and affordable to get this and other BB creams on Ebay, and they usually arrive in a week or so, sometimes less, because I was able to find some sellers that are located in the U.S.

Aileen, this broke you out too? I wanted to try it pa naman but I don't wan to break out. The Stila Oil-free TM breaks me out every time I use it so this might too.

Nikki-yeah if you are not used to BB creams this might break you out. We are spoiled by MMU! I figured I don't break out as long as I only use BB creams 2x a week. Any longer than that will clog my pores.
