Zoya NYFW Fall 2012: Designer Collection Swatches and Review

I previously posted swatches and my review of the Zoya NYFW 2012 Diva Collection Swatches and Review. The Diva collection is comprised of metallic and glass fleck finishes. Zoya Designer collection is the "palate cleanser" collection. It has smooth, classic cremes in rich, fall colors. These hues previously graced the New York Fashion Week runways, and a couple are custom shades from well-known designers, hence the name of the collection. Here are my thoughts on them.

Noot

Noot is a charcoal green gray cream. A little bit too dark for me this time of the year, but come fall and winter, this will probably be one of my staple manicure shades.

Natty

Natty is a smoked navy blue cream. Very edgy yet classy. This is my top favorite from the Designer collection.

Evvie

Evvie is a pretty evergreen cream which is a Peter Som custom shade. I love the deep evergreen. Reminds me of fatigue green but darker. This is my second favorite from the collection.

Rekha

Rekha is a blood red cream which is a Bibhu Mohapatra custom shade. Bibhu is a fashion designer of East Indian descent, so I can understand why he created a beautiful deep jewel tone shade that is a staple hue in Indian culture. This is such a pretty shade. It's vibrant, rich, and the cream finish makes it look timeless and classic.

Monica

Monica is a dark, mulberry purple cream. I like dark purples so this is right up my alley. This is a blue-based purple.

Toni

Toni is described as a dark maroon red cream, but I see this as a red-toned purple. I am not a fan of red-based purples (although there are some that I like, I am not particularly liking this shade).

All in all, these are fantastic shades. My favorites are the custom creations, just because they really stand out and the color concepts were obviously well-thought of. I also like Natty because I just love the precise shade of blue that it is, and combined with the cream finish, the overall look is just amazing.

As I said, if you are tired of glitters, duochromes, nail art, these polishes from the Designer collection are your palate cleansers. If you are craving for classic creams that range from the really unusual to the most iconic shades, this collection is worth a peek.  The collection is now available on www.Zoya.com.
