Special Event Look Using Chanel Mat Lumiere, MAC Peacocky, Cham Pale and Mickey Contractor Products

I attended a wedding last weekend and I used some of my favorite products from the three most recent MAC collections of Peacocky, Cham Pale, and Mickey Contractor. The products were lovely and they went well with the makeup color palette I had in mind.

L-R: Chanel Mat Lumiere in Ginger 044, Beige 040

Top: Ginger
Bottom: Beige

Ginger and Beige blended

I also have to say that Chanel Mat Lumiere foundation is one of the best foundations I have ever tried for special events. It may be THE best foundation for special events for me right now. I had my makeup on for at least 13 hours, and it didn't budge at all. It didn't melt off my face, and still looked as immaculate in the late hours of the night during the reception as it did in the early afternoon wedding ceremony. The foundation looks amazingly flawless and it didn't look as if I had a thick mask of makeup on. It has a soft matte finish but it doesn't look like a flat matte. It gives a sort of soft glow that I really love.

My summer shade is Ginger, but lately I found that Beige is more my color because I lost whatever tan I had during the summer. However, I still mix a tiny bit of Ginger because Beige is a bit too light.

I will be making a separate review of Chanel Mat Lumiere, so watch out for it.

MAC lipsticks from Mickey Contractor: Yash, Mehr, Gulabi

I used Mehr lipstick for my lips and it is such a beautiful brownish rose-pink that I love so much. It has a matte finish that doesn't dry out my lips, but I always choose to apply lip balm before any lip product anyway. Because it is matte, the staying power is amazing and it gives a nice rose stain on the lips even after it's wiped off with a napkin after a meal. Too bad it's already sold out on the MAC website (and I am too lazy to call Pro stores), or I would have bought a back-up.

MAC Kissable Lipcolour in Exxxhibitionist, So Vain, Scan-delicious, Flaunting It, Super

The Kissable Lipcolour is an amazing new product from MAC. It operates like a liquid lipstick so its coverage is opaque and yet has the shine from gloss that I love. It doesn't have the super bling of lipgloss, which makes the Kissable lipcolour look a lot more formal than the lipglass. I used Flaunting It over Mehr lipstick during the wedding and it looked beautiful. I bought a back-up of Flaunting It as I can't get over how nice the shade is- it's a pinkish-grey shade that worked well with my skintone.

Cham Pale products: Bubble Lounge lip gelee, Chilled on Ice paint pot, Soiree nail lacquer

For my eyes, I used Chilled on Ice paint pot as a base after I applied Urban Decay primer potion. I used this paint pot because the main lid color I picked was matte, so the paint pot lent a bit of shimmer to the eyes. I wanted my eyeshadow to look matte but not flat.

Cham Pale Caviar Dreams eyeshadow quad:
Brule, Retrospeck
Et Tu, Bouquet?, Caviar Dreams

I used this unassuming eyeshadow quad for the wedding. I love Brule. Even though it's a permanent item and I have a separate pro pan of Brule, I loved that it's part of this quad because it's much easier to coordinate the shades. I applied Brule on the lid mixed with a little bit of Retrospeck. I used Caviar Dreams on the crease.

I also used Dark Edge and Twinks to deepen the crease and outer lid, and Daisy Chain to highlight the browbone.

Sur and Gana blushes

And of course, I used Sur blush from the Mickey Contractor collection, and highlighted my cheekbones with Gana blush.  It is an amazing combination.  These two are some of my all-time MAC blush faves and I will be using these again and again.  I added a tiny bit of Briar Rose beauty powder from the Venomous Villains collection to lend a pink tinge to my cheeks.  Of course, I didn't forget to spritz MAC Fix+ to set the makeup.

Here are some photos during the wedding:

You look amazing! None of my foundations last past 4 hours, including the special event ones! I think I'll look into Chanel Mat Lumiere. I'm really into making "investments" now when it comes to makeup lol

Chibu- thanks as always!

Ashley- I really try to "invest" in good quality makeup now, especially foundations. I love this foundation and it never broke me out.
