Athma Eyeshadow Quad:

Jaan, Folie
Vivah, Carbon

Athma in India means "soul", and there are also two other products in the quad that have Indian names - Vivah (which means "marriage"), a new golden coppery brown, and Jaan, which means "my life". The latter is a light neutral with soft pearl. Both Vivah and Jaan are lustres so there's a little bit of a fall-out when I used them for my look. However, for me, these two are the better shadows from the quad. I already have Folie which is a permanent shade, and Carbon is a frequent presence in many limited edition quads. I wish MAC could come up with a better matte black because I find it hard to blend Carbon. It's not MAC's best black. I'd rather go with the limited edition Mont Black from the Chill collection.

Athma quad: Jaan, Folie
Vivah, Carbon

All in all, even though I don't like Carbon, this quad is a nice addition to your collection if you are going for the neutral or smokey-with-a-twist look. The quad infuses a healthy dose of coppery gold in your eye look. Here is a look below featuring the Athma quad:

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars

Single Eyeshadows:

Oomph, Marvel
Rani

Oomph

Marvel

Rani

Oomph, Marvel
Rani

These eyeshadows are not very unique in MAC terms, but they are quite nicely pigmented. I don't have Saffron yet, a deep coral caramel in Satin, but I will be swatching it with the rest of the colors later this week. Oomph is a forest green with soft gold pearl in the Veluxe Pearl formula, and Marvel is a deep purple with soft pink pearl (Frost). Rani is a bright fuchsia with soft pink pearl which is also a frost. I am loving both Oomph and Marvel - their colors are rich, deep and yet have pearly nuances which are really pretty. Humid is the perfect complement to Oomph; Humid is in the same color family but lighter, and Oomph would make a great crease or outer lid color mixed with Humid to create depth. I don't like a lot of bright fuchsia in my eye color so I am not as excited with Rani as I am with the other shadows.

All in all, if you don't have similar colors yet, I would suggest Oomph and Marvel as nice crease and outer lid colors.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.25 out of 5 stars

Fluidlines:

Ivy, Siahi

Ivy, Siahi

I am not really into blue or green eyeliners so I am not as excited with these fluidlines as let's say with the Super Slick liquid liners that have some exciting but wearable shades. Ivy is a bright green frost and Siahi is a deep turquoise blue. They are not as opaque as I would like them to be. You would have to line your eyes a few times before you get a dark line with these. I think they would make better bases (more opaque) than paint pots, but as liners, I don't think they are dark/opaque enough.

The Shades Of U Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

All in all, I am more excited about the face products than the eye products from this collection. I do like Oomph and Marvel, and if you like the colors from the Athma quad, it would also be a good investment since you can create a lot of looks with these - from neutral to smokey to bronzey.

The face (blush and concealers) product swatches and review are coming up, so stay tuned for those!
