MAC Fabulous Felines Initial Swatches and Review

Check out my MAC Fabulous Felines: Superslick Liquid Liners Swatches and Review

Check out my MAC Fabulous Felines: Mineralize Blushes and Pigments Swatches and Review

Here are some initial swatches of the MAC Fabulous Felines collection. I will be coming up with swatches of the rest of the products in the next few entries.

Obviously, this collection's theme is all about pedigreed cats. Three sub-"cat"-egories were made: Burmese Beauty which is about shades of sable, champagne and teak-olive, Palace Pedigreed which is about emerald eyes, silvers, russian blue, and Leopard Luxe which has golds, browns and bronzes from the collection.

For this entry, I will divide the reviews according to products instead of the sub cat-egories for easier navigation. Let's start!

SUPERSLICK LIQUID EYE LINER

L-R: Smokey Heir (fine and thick lines), Marked for Glamour (thick and fine lines)

I am so glad that MAC came up with their own version of the liquid liners as I am loving them right now. I hardly use anything other than my L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner and have been neglecting my gel and pencil liners, but I had wanted something like that from MAC. I do have the Penultimate liner but I find it a little too fine for my taste and it takes a while to build up the line to the thickness and intensity that I want. The Superslick Liquid Eye Liner is the answer to my prayer to the Powers That Be. I love how easy it is to control the wand applicator. It creates thin and thick lines with ease, depending on your taste. I love liquid liners because I can create precise, flawless lines in 10 seconds flat without the need for a separate brush unlike gel liners. I also love how intense and dramatic it can look should you want it that way.

Smokey Heir is a dark blue violet with soft pearl that I really like. I will definitely use this for pinks, lilacs and lavender eye looks, and it would go even with a neutral eye look to give a pop of color to the lids.

Marked For Glamour is a gorgeous, gorgeous mid-tone grey with soft pearl. This will be a staple for me. I would love to use this with grey, neutral and smokey eye looks.

PIGMENT:

L-R: Bloodline, Lithe

L-R: Lithe, Bloodline

L-R: Lithe, Bloodline

Antique Green, Gold Stroke

I am glad that MAC is introducing some new (not repromoted) pigments in this collection, although some like Antique Green and Gold Stroke are in fact not new.

Lithe is probably going to be one of my most-used pigments as this is perfect for a nude or neutral eye. It is a frosted warm nude with gold pearl that would be perfect for my office neutral eye. It's basically fool-proof and I love the subtle pearl because this would make my eyes look more awake and rested.

Bloodline is a dark dirty browned purple that would be good as a liner or an outer V or crease color. I love the darkness of the brown and purple and it actually reminds me a little bit of dried blood, but of course the latter is gory and icky. This has more shimmer though and very pretty if you want to go out of the traditional smokey eye box and opt for a smokey purple-brown look.

LIPSTICK:

L-R: Aristo-cat, Pet Me Please

Top-bottom: Aristo-cat, Pet Me Please

L-R: Aristo-cat, Pet Me Please

Aristo-Cat

Pet Me Please

I am not really a big fan of frost lipsticks, but I am kinda liking Aristo-Cat, a mid-tone frosted purple-mauve because I love everything purple and it doesn't really look too purple to me. It's a nice break from cream and lustre lipsticks because it makes my lips look all shiny and blingy without the need for lipglasses.

Pet Me Please is a frosted light dirty mauve that I think might be too light and frosty for my skintone. This would be great for the right skintone and smokey or neutral eyes.

LIPGLASS:

Top-bottom: Lap of Luxury, Schemer

Lap of Luxury

Schemer

L-R: Schemer, Lap of Luxury

I am loving Lap of Luxury!  It may look dark in the tube, a dark eggplant with pearl, but it morphs into a beautiful berry tint on my lips.  It's kind of sheer so you won't end up with eggplant lips, but it looks more like a berry shade instead of eggplant on me.  This is one of my favorites from this collection.

Schemer reminds me of Beansprout lustreglass on my lips.  It's described as a mid-tone camel with red and gold pearl.  It also reminds me of an old lipglass from the MAC Raquel Welch collection called Vital Spark, but the latter was more yellow and Schemer is more of an antique gold to my eyes.

MINERALIZE BLUSH

Pet Me

Pet Me

Utterly Game

Pet Me, Utterly Game

L-R: Utterly Game, Pet Me

I am liking Pet Me because it is such a clean, happy pink.  It suits my coloring to a T because it has yellow tones to it.  It applies smooth, silky and not splotchy at all.

Note: Media samples were provided by a representative of the company for evaluation and consideration.  All opinions are 100% mine.

Ya know, I think I'm starting not to like you so much anymore. Because of your gorgeous swatches and wonderful MAC write ups, I was FORCED to purchase EVERY SINGLE EYE LINER IN EVERY COLOR with the exception of the Emerald Green, which I simply HAD to purchase 2 because Emerald is my favorite color. I believe that comes out to 8 eyeliners plus the duplicate for a total of 9=$171.48. And then, of course I simply had to purchase 2 of the lipstick"Of Royalty" Since I'm well on the road toward homelessness, although I'll look fabulous, can you recommend a beautiful lipglass for the "Of Royalty" lipstick (cremesheen)?. Also, do you know when MAC will be releasing the Limited Edition LipGlasses that go with The Lady GaGa and Cyndi Lauper lipsticks? DLori (kleimanlaw at aol dot com)
