Pinks and Purples Using Sassy and Aromaleigh Mineral Shadows

I love mineral eyeshadows so I decided to do another purply look featuring Sassy and Aromaleigh mineral shadows. I love the pigmentation and texture of Aromaleigh, while Sassy has nice colors and their mattes are pretty easy to blend.

I intended to show a step-by-step application but for some reason, my camera acted up again and I was only able to salvage photos taken mid-way through the eyeshadow application process. Nonetheless, I hope you can still appreciate the photos!

Apply MAC Beige-ing shadestick all over lid and lower lashline. Apply MAC Fresco Rose paint pot on lid. Foil Sassy Minerals Wonderland on lid using the Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" (MAC 239 dupe) using MAC Charged Water. Using the same brush, apply Sassy Minerals Endless Party dry on outer lid and crease. Using the same brush, apply AL Colette on outer V. Blend with the 224 brush. Apply AL Blueorchid to blend with Colette. To lighten up the hues and to create a gradient look, apply AL Vigil of Change on outer V and crease using a stiff shader brush, then blend in one direction sweeps using the 224.

Using Stila No. 5 brush, apply AL Air & Light to highlight the browbone.

Lilacs and Purples Using MAC Sorceress Eye Shadow Palette

Here is a quick look using my MAC Sorceress eyeshadow palette. I love lavenders and purples so I really had to get this one. Here is a quick step-by-step. All eye products MAC unless otherwise specified.

Apply Beige-ing shadestick all over lid and browbone and lower lashline. Using a fluffy shader brush, apply Fresco Rose paint pot on lid.

Using a stiff shader brush, apply Magnetized on lid.

Using the 224 brush, apply Hold My Gaze on crease.

Using the Sonia Kashuk blender brush, apply Hypnotizing on crease.

Using the same blender brush, apply Edge of Dark on outer V. Blend with the 224.

Using the same blender brush, apply Altered State on the crease and outer V. Blend with the 224.

Apply more Altered State and Edge of Dark to contour the crease.

Using Stila Brush No. 5, apply White Rabbit on browbone to highlight.

Apply L'Oreal Lineur Intense in Black liquid liner on upper lashline. Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) using Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on liner pencil in Zero. Using the 219, apply Magnetized on inner to mid lower lashline and Altered State on outer lower lashline. Apply Red Cherry falsies #15. Apply mascara.

Purple and Pink Eye Look Using Aromaleigh Mineral Eye Shadows

DSCF2368

Belated Happy Halloween! To celebrate it, I wore a predominantly purple eye look using Aromaleigh shadows. I honestly love Aromaleigh shadows because they are very pigmented and are a dream to apply and blend on the skin. They are not just mini mica explosions with all sparkle and no color pay-off. There are also over 300 eyeshadow colors and textures to choose from. I also don't need to wait weeks just to receive my online order; I get them almost always within three business days.

Anyways, I used mostly shadows from the Les Papillons collection. I also used a Rocks! Sonic eyeshadow in blueorchid, I believe. I am not sure because the label is peeled off.

For the lid color, I used Soulmate from the Valentine 2009 collection.

Anyhoo, here is a step-by-step. All eye products are Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.

Apply MAC Bare Canvas paint all over lid. Apply MAC Fresco Rose paint pot on lid. Foil Soulmate on lid using the Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" (MAC 239 dupe) using MAC Charged Water.

Using the same brush, apply Ephemeral Violet dry on outer lid and crease.

Using the same brush, apply a little Dormant Dream to mix with Ephemeral Violet. Blend with MAC 224 brush.

Using the same brush, add blueorchid. Blend carefully using the 224.

Using the same brush, apply Emergent Beauty foiled on the outer lid using MAC Charged Water. Wait to dry and blend with 224.

To retain the purple tones, add a little bit of Vigil of Change dry using the same brush.

Using the same brush, apply Soul Takes Flight dry on outer lid. Blend with the 224.

Using Stila No. 5 brush, apply a shimmery pink eyeshadow to highlight the browbone.

Line upper lashline with L'Oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner (my favorite liner of late).

Pinks and Purples Using Mineral Shadows and Blushes

I was able to get some samples of the beautiful Les Papillons eyeshadow collection from Aromaleigh. I had high hopes for these shadows, and they didn't disappoint. The colors are beautiful, the pigmentation rich. In fact, these babies are hella pigmented. In the look below, I used the Aromaleigh eyeshadows dry, and yet they stayed vibrant on my lid for hours and even withstood a long nap.

Here are the four eyeshadows I will be using for this look. Flying Flower is described on the Aromaleigh site as "A joyful cool frosted pink with soft violet highlight and sparkles of copper. Silvery metallic heart." Dormant Dream is "dramatic and vivid fuschia purple with a metallic heart and pearl frost finish (A customer requested a "Gucci" purple, and this is the result!)". Fragile Charms is "a muted mauved purple with fuschia and burgundy undertones. Slight blue highlight, silvery metallic smoothness and brilliant diamond glints", and Emergent Beauty is "The deepest pearlescent mauved burgundy with smoke tones, deep metallic red and sparkles of russet and aqua." I love the names of the products, and Kristen's descriptions are out-of-this-world!

Here's a step-by-step. All eye products Aromaleigh unless otherwise stated.

Apply MAC Butternutty shadestick all over lid and lower lashline. Using a fluffy brush, apply MAC paint pot in Fresco Rose on lid.

Using Loew Cornell Maxine's Mop 3/8" brush, apply Flying Flower dry on lid.

Like so.

Using the other side of the same brush, apply Dormant Dream on outer V.

Using the Sonia Kashuk premium blender brush (black handle), gently blend the edges of the shadows.

Using the Loew Cornell shader brush, apply Fragile Charms on the outer-most part of the lid.

Blend all harsh lines with the SK premium blender brush.

Using the Loew Cornell brush, apply a tiny bit of Emergent Beauty on the crease, and add more Flying Flower and Dormant Dream as necessary. Blend with the SK blender brush.

Using the Stila No. 5 brush, apply a pearly light pink shadow to highlight.

Using Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush, apply MAC Blacktrack fluidline on upper lashline.

Rim eyes (waterline and tightline) with Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero. Using the MAC 219 brush, apply Flying Flower on inner lower lashline, and Emergent Beauty on outer lower lashline. Apply Red Cherry false lashes #503. Apply mascara.
