Before that, however, I want to put in my two cents in writing, so this is technically not just a video post.  As I mentioned in the video, I LOVE the formula of this line.  I like this so much better than the L'Oreal Colour Riche Caress Wet Shine Stain gloss that was launched a year or so ago.  That one looked so uneven on my lips.  This new one from L'Oreal just coats the lips effortlessly.

I don't think I can call these liquid lip sticks, just because I feel that they have a jelly-like finish that is more similar to a lipgloss than to a lipstick that has a creamy finish.  They also have softer finishes than the usual liquid lipsticks that I own like Rimmel Apocalips or Color Show Offs.  Nonetheless, they do impart good pigmentation especially the darker or brighter shades.

They have decent staying power, maybe 3 hours tops on my lips, before I have to re-apply them again.  They have a certain tackiness to them that makes them a bit more longer-lasting than lipglosses with thinner consistency, but the tackiness don't feel uncomfortable on my lips.

L'Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner Review

It took me a while to come up with a review of this product but I should have done this earlier because I am really impressed with this eyeliner. The name fits it perfectly. The product is in pencil form but it glides on the skin just like a liquid eyeliner would - intense, dark, and very smoothly. I've never seen a pencil eyeliner this "liquidy" before. I've encountered pencil liners that are creamy and easy to apply, but not in this sort of liquid way.



This is perfect for those days when you want a precise line and you can't find your liquid eyeliner. It is also perfect for those eyeliner newbies who are intimidated with liquid eyeliners and yet want the precision only a liquid liner can produce. This is great on the upper lashline to create a sharp, precise line complete with a cat-eye flick if you prefer. Just make sure you sharpen this baby prior to application so it can create a thin, dramatic and precise line. This would also be great on the waterline and to tightline. It creates a very dark line that is perfect for emphasizing eyes.

What is more amazing is that after I swatched this on the back of my hand, it wouldn't smudge after it has dried. I tried to smudge the line with my finger and it just wouldn't budge. That means this has really great staying power and just like a liquid eyeliner, it doesn't smudge as easily as your regular pencil liner. However, it is imperative that you let the line dry completely before touching it, or else it will smudge.

The downside to this product is that for people with oily skin, this product might still smudge even after drying. It is therefore a must that both the upper and lower lashlines are primed with an eyeshadow primer in order to prevent the product from migrating to the undereye area, especially if you have oily lids.

All in all, however, I am amazed with the L'Oreal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner. This is really a good marriage of liquid and pencil eyeliners. I love the convenience of the pencil form with the performance of a liquid eyeliner. Try this product for yourself, and to be safe from smudging, always prime your eyes with eyeshadow primer before application.

L'Oreal Eye Makeup Remover Review

I've always relied on department store makeup removers because I wear eye makeup everyday, so I really need a heavy-duty eye makeup remover. I'd always thought that a department store brand would work better than drugstore ones, so I'd honestly stayed away from drugstore makeup removers. I was given a chance, however, to try the L'Oreal version of it, and I'd have to say that I was pretty impressed. L'oreal claims that it gently and easily removes waterproof and long-wearing makeup, and it even conditions the lashes! A rather strong claim, but it delivered, at least for me.

If you peer closely, you would notice that the product looks like italian salad dressing: it has oil mixed with a watery substance. I read in a makeup magazine that the best eye makeup removers always consist of this two-layered substance (oil mixed with water) because these effectively remove even the most stubborn water-proof mascaras. I wear eyeshadow, liner, mascara and brow powder everyday, and yet it was able to gently but effectively wipe all traces of the day away. I moisten a cotton pad with the product, hold it on my closed lids for a few seconds (to let the formula seep into the eye makeup and to minimize tugging), and gently wipe away the gunk. The best part is that it's oil-free, so there's no greasy residue or sticky feel. It is also dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested, and safe for contact lens wearers like me.

You can also use this to remove truly stubborn makeup or erase mistakes in makeup application by dipping a cotton swab in the makeup remover to gently spot-clean an area of the face.

All in all, I really, really like this product. It is as effective as department store eye makeup remover without the exorbitant price. It retails for $6.50 for a 4 fl. oz. bottle, and is available at all drugstores and other mass retail stores nationwide.
