I've been playing with this beauty for a few weeks now, and I can say that the LORAC Beauty and the Beast Eyeshadow Palette been my go-to palette when I just want a natural, no-fuss eye look.  It has a nice mix of warm and cool shades that can easily transition from day to night.  Of course, it doesn't hurt that the packaging is darling...it has a book-like palette that has the classic Beauty and the Beast mirror on the left side, and it has a magnetized clasp to keep things in place.

As you can see in the swatches above, the colors are a combination of rich hues and creamy neutrals.  My favorites are definitely Dream It which is a shimmery white-cream, Time Keeper, a shimmer taupe, Enchanting, the pretty gold, Romance, the terra cotta that is so pigmented and creamy, Spell Breaker, a shimmery dark brown.  I also like the romantic pinkish colors on the bottom row.

All in all, this is a nice palette that I can use any time of the year, but mostly if I just want fool-proof colors that can transition from office to a dinner out in town.

I've always been intrigued by how affordable Jesse's Girl products are.  What's surprising is that the company actually churns out good quality products and not some crappy dollar store quality cosmetics.  In particular, the Jesse's Girl Backstage Collection palettes were a pleasant surprise.  Jesse's Girl came up with the Backstage Collection that features two eyeshadow palette- the Sounds of the City which comprise of cool neutral to smoky shades, and the Natural Nudes palette, composed of warmer neutrals.

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving holiday!  Some of the best values that I was able to check out during the Black Friday sale a couple of days ago were the compact eye shadow palettes from LORAC!  Each are only $18 each and the colors are perfect for everyday neutral eyes.  For Black Friday (and today, Cyber Monday!), LORAC offers two compact neutral eye shadow palettes that are truly affordable, and yet have the same high quality as the full-size LORAC palettes.

 LORAC Tails & Top Hats eye shadow palette has the cooler tones which look amazing on all skin tones.  I love the soft browns, taupes and the cool taupe brown that is my favorite - it looks great as a crease or outer lid color.  The black is super duper pigmented!  It is a great black that is perfect to create smokey eyes or just to give the lids a little bit of dimension by deepening the crease.

LORAC  Black Tie Affair eye shadow palette is the warmer palette, but I like the lighter shades in this palette because they make pretty lid colors.

I have been enjoying MAC Eyeshadow x 9 in Dusky Rose Times Nine, so let me just talk about this.  I have filmed a video review about the new and improved prices of these palettes which will be up soon, but I have filmed a video review MAC Burgundy Times Nine and Amber Times Nine palettes which you can view here, but today it's all about Dusky Rose Times Nine.  This is the exact same palette as the MAC Macnificent Me Times Nine palette which I also own, but the latter is limited edition, and MAC probably decided to have a new name for the now permanent product.

I like this palette (however tiny it is), because these dime-sized shadows are really right up my alley in terms of color.  I like these hues for everyday looks at work, or I can always add the darker shades on the outer lid and lower lashline to smokify things a bit.

Macnificent Me is a nice lid or highlight color, a light shimmery pinky beige which is very versatile.  Quiet Time is amazing just because I love shimmery bronzes.  In the Dark is the perfect liner or outer lid color - nice matte dark brown.  Fabulous DNA is like a pinkier version of Macnificent Me.  Sable is a popular crease color, a gold bronze shimmer, and it's in the permanent line.  Frankly Frosty, as the name suggests, is a grey taupe.  Pleasing to the Eye is a midtone rose.  In My Element is a cool silver pearl.  Cool Complement is a nice midtown brown.

Romantic Date Makeup Looks and Video Tutorial

So Valentine's Day was ten days ago, but who says you can't go out to romantic dinners even after Valentine's Day?

For a romantic night out look, I like to keep my eyes neutral but my lips bright.  Here is my look during a date with my husband in 2014.  I used my favorite MAC Viva Glam Miley Cyrus lipstick and lipglass.

Sometimes, though, I just want to wear toned-down lips.  For the look below, I used LuminessAir Air Supremacy Air Brush Makeup for my foundation, and a liquid lipstick from LA Splash called Lip Couture in Love Good.

This first look involves a slightly darkened crease but still a neutral eye, matte lips and light blush.

The second look uses light, neutral colors on the eyes and luscious-looking lips.  I am wearing Marc Jacobs Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer in 320 Love Drunk.

I guess the key to creating romantic looks is to make everything look natural and not too heavy.
