bareMinerals Holiday 2013: Degrees of Dazzling 20-Pc Eye Shadow Set Swatches, Review

bareMinerals Degrees of Dazzling

Every year, I look forward to the entire gamut of holiday collections from bareMinerals.  This is the time when the company goes all out when it comes to holiday kits.  When I say all out, I do mean it: bareMinerals has the most number of holiday kits from one brand that I know of.  One of the best kits they have is the huge eyeshadow kit.

bareMinerals Degrees of Dazzling contains 20 eye shadows that are divided into 4 amazing finishes.  The kit has Velvets (matte), High Shines, Glimmers and Liner Shadows.  The Velvets are the mattes, the High Shines are the truly metallic ones, the Glimmers have a nice subtle sheen to them, and the Liner Shadows are just that - dark, uber-pigmented shadows that can be used as a liner or as crease/outer lid colors to create more dimension to the eye look.

Each pot of shadow is not a full-size one, but it is substantial enough that it can last a long, long while, since a little goes a long way.

This set contains:
- 0.01 oz x 5 Velvet Eyecolor in Mauve, Emerald, Lavender, Nude, Charcoal
- 0.01 oz x 5 High Shine Eyecolor in Pewter, Stay Golden, Deep Sea, Iridescent Iris, Rose Gold High
- 0.01 oz x 5 Glimmer Eyecolor in Silver Dollar, Ginger Sugar, Violent Spell, Golden Pear, Strawberry Mousse
- 0.01 oz x 5 Liner Shadow Eye Color in Black Liner, Starry Night, Toasted Espresso, Lagoon, Yoga

Here are the shadows.  They are divided according to their finishes.  Let's start with the Velvets:

Bare Minerals A Vision in Velvet 20-Piece Eye Color Set Swatches, Review

This is my favorite Bare Minerals Holiday Set for the loose eye shadows.  This set is called the Bare Minerals A Vision In Velvet™ Set. It contains no less than 20 eye shadows, and features 10 velvet matte and 10 velvet satin Eyecolors.  As I said in my Video Post: Bare Minerals Holiday 2012 Set Review, I love the packaging of the holiday sets this year.  They are packaged in very festive gold or silver lids and cases, which are really quite beautiful and really herald the holiday season.  What I also like about this particular set is that it is not filled with shimmery, glittery mica bombs.  These are actually soft shine satin colors and smooth, pigmented mattes.  These are not your usual super glitter or metallic mineral shadows that  we often see in mineral makeup companies.  Let's take a look at the Velvet Satin eye colors first.
