MAC Brooke Shields Collection Swatches, Review, Makeup Look

MAC Brooke Shields Collection

The MAC Brooke Shields is a welcome respite from all the loud, barely wearable colors that many makeup companies put in their palettes this time of year.  This collection is just perfect for Brooke Shields- very classic and classy colors that stand the test of time and the seasons.  I don't have the Gravitas palette which is the 15-pan palette from this collection that features neutral and non-neutral but wearable shades, many of which are from the permanent collection.  That said, I do have several choice colors from this collection.

Here are the products and swatches from the MAC Brooke Shields collection, and my thoughts on these.

MAC Bronzing Powder in Scone is described as a neutral tan.  This showed up nicely on my medium-toned skin, but might not show up on darker skintones.

MAC lipstick in Gospel is described as a sheer rich burgundy in the lustre formula.  MAC lipglass in Knockout is a bright orange red.  I usually prefer lipstick colors to lipglasses in a given MAC collection, but in this case, I prefer MAC Knockout lipglass to MAC Gospel lipstick.  That is because the latter is beautiful in color but applies a bit patchy (maybe because of the lustre formula).  MAC Knockout lipglass, on the other hand, is a beautiful orange red, similar to my own MAC lipglass creation from the MAC Bloggers' Obsessions collection called MAC Sonoran Rain lipglass, except that the Knockout does not have silver or gold pearl.

MAC Cherished Cream Colour Base is described as a bright coral pink and soft burgundy rose.  This is not for use in the eye area, but this is a great cheek and lip color duo.

It applied well on my cheeks using my fingers, although blending takes a bit of effort because the formula is a tad tacky.  It can also be applied using a round buffing brush or a small stippling blush for a lit-from-within look.

MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Palette in Mortal

MAC Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Palette in Mortal is a palette of five beautiful and wearable shimmery/metallic eye shadow shades.  I like that several of the shades can be used as a lid color.  I often mix two of the shades on my lid to give a little bit of dimension to my eye look.  I particularly love the first three lighter shades - the shimmery beige, champagne and coral are just amazing as lid colors.

MAC nail lacquer in Pricey is a beautiful oxblood cream.  Oxblood is my favorite color for fall, so this is totally up my alley.  I've been impressed with MAC's nail polish formula as of late.  I am loving how long-wearing this formula is.

Wearing MAC Brooke Shields Collection Items in: Mortal Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow palette, Gospel lipstick topped with Knockout lipglass, Bronzing Powder in Scone, Cream Colour Base in Cherished

I am a fan of Brooke Shields and her style, so I am totally digging this collection.  As I said, this is a totally wearable collection composed of classic eye shadow shades and a bold lip.  I totally recommend the Cream Colour Base in Cherished, the lipstick and lipglass if you are into bold, red or coral lip, and I personally am loving the Veluxe Pearlfusion Eye Shadow in Mortal, since I love the lid colors from this palette.  If you are looking for a starter eye shadow kit, this collections 15-piece eyeshadow palette in Gravitas is a nice starter kit, although it is sold-out online and at my local MAC boutique, but you can probably still score this at select counters or stores.

What are your favorites from this collection?
