I was able to try Em Cosmetics' Arched Defining Brow Liner, and this was my very first experience with a product from this brand.  As most of us know, this is a brand-new line from Michelle Phan.  I have read and seen mixed reviews on some of the products, but I wanted to try the brow liner for myself, because I am always on the hunt for really good brow products.

The Em Cosmetics Arched Defining Brow Liner comes in a dual-ended pencil with the brow liner on one end and a spoolie with a cap.  I like the cap because it makes things more sanitary.  The brow liner comes in a retractable tube, so you don't need to sharpen the product.

The brow liner is a pencil that has a fine point, which I really like because you can draw the outline of your brows with precision for that bold, defined brow.  I also like the fine tip to fill in the sparse areas of the brow.  I do have to admit that I'd like to have another shade, a deeper one to outline the base of my brows, but the Brunette shade is my perfect shade to fill in the brows.

I was pleasantly surprised with the formula.  It gives pigmentation without making the brows look too dark.  It also has some sort of a waxy texture to tame the hairs and keep them in place, but not too waxy that it would create uneven texture on the brows.  I would say that it has the same texture and finish as my favorite MAC Automatic Brow Pencil in Stud.

The price is a bit steep for a brow liner ($19), which is the downside of this product, but considering that it works well and it's close in price to my MAC automatic eye pencil in Stud ($16 but without a spoolie), I can probably live with it.

All in all, I am pretty happy with this brow liner, but as I said, I would have to use two shades because I like to use a darker color to line the base of my brows.  I like the color, the application, the pigmentation and the formula (just the right balance of pigment and waxy texture).
