Stila In The Garden Eye Shadow Palette Swatches and Review

When I saw this Stila In the Garden eye shadow palette at Sephora, I was immediately drawn to it.  I absolutely like the fact that this palette is not your usual springy or pastel greens or pinks, but these shades have a touch of neutral to them.  At the same time, they're not your usual neutrals - not your bronzes and browns and blacks that are in a bajillion neutral palettes.  These shades are neutral enough to be worn at work or any conservative office setting, and yet unusual enough to stand out.

The palette comes with its own lookbook so even though you're clueless about shadows, you can create looks using the shades.

From the Sephora website, this contains the following:
- 10 x 0.05 oz Eye Shadow in Chinois (matte creamy white), Breeze (shimmery beige), Bark (shimmery taupe), Freesia (shimmery violet blue), Rosette (metallic pink violet), Nectar (matte creamy beige), Honey (metallic bronze gold), Sage (shimmery translucent green), Moss (dark olive green with shimmer), Juniper (deep shimmery forest green)
- 0.01 oz Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Starfish (black with gold and green pearl sparkle)

Swatches:

First of all, I've always loved Stila's environmental-friendly packaging. I love the cute girly drawings and the stylish cardboard palettes. The lightweight feel of the palette is also great for travel.

As for the shadows, the ones in this palette are very buttery, apply like a dream on the skin, very pigmented. My favorites are definitely Chinois which is a matte but pigmented and smooth yellow-white highlighter, Breeze which is a shimmery beige, Bark, a beautiful shimmery taupe, Sage, a translucent green, and Juniper, a deep forest green. Aren't they all beautiful - unusual but very wearable?

Here's my look using the Stila In The Garden palette. Love the blend of shades!

The best part is that it comes with a Smudgestick Waterproof liner in Starfish, a gorgeous soft black with gold and green sparkle. This liner also glides like a dream and is waterproof, so it is tear-proof and lasts longer than regular liners.

All in all, I think this is a wonderful palette. You can use this anytime, anywhere. You can use this for work, for an easy weekend out in town, or on a night out with friends. Everytime I use this for the office, I always have to admire my eye look- it looks like it was blended really well even though it only took me a total of five minutes to do my eye makeup. The coordinating smudgestick liner pulls the entire look together. This is definitely one of my favorite eye palettes of late. My only gripe is that I wish they included a dark grey for the crease or outer V or to smoke out the eyes, but I have a lot of greys and blacks so it really doesn't matter to me.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.8
