Shu Uemura Celestial Garden Spring 2012: Fairy Pink Dome Blusher Swatches and Review

Shu Uemura Fairy Pink Dome Blusher

Shu Uemura came out with their Spring-Summer 2012 collection called Celestial Garden. The colors are really very pretty and fresh, and some shades give a luminous look.

I was able to try the Fairy Pink Dome blusher that is just the prettiest. It is in this cute white packaging with a clear cap. The blusher is, as the name suggests, dome-shaped, and this is perfect for travel or for toting it in your purse because you don't need a brush for this. You just use the dome to dab the product on your cheeks, and if you want, you can smooth the edges with your finger for a very natural, lit-from-within look.

L-R: Swiped, blended

As you can see, the formula provides an even application. You can dab this on your skin and leave it at that, or you can blend the edges with your fingers for a seamless look. This shade is a nice peachy pink that is great for light to medium skintones. The downside is that this might not work for tan or darker skintones. The shade is definitely a tad too light.

All in all, this is a good cream-to-powder blusher that is great for travel. It is a staple in my makeup bag that I carry everywhere; perfect for touch-ups. I also like that it's mess-free and brush-free, the over-all packaging is very convenient. It is too cute to just sit at home!

Pros: Great cream-to-powder formula, convenient and travel-friendly packaging, easy to dab and apply, lit-from-within blush look

Cons: shade is a tad too light

It's currently sold out on the Shu Uemura website, but you can enter your email address and be notified once it's back in stock. In the meantime, check out the other items from the Celestial Garden Spring Mode 2012 collection.
