Pure Silk Shave Cream Review

Summer is still in its element, and what better way to celebrate the hot, scorching days than outdoor activities and showing some skin (*wink-wink*). Pure Silk is one of the most affordable shave creams I've tried. It retails for $1.99 for a 9.5 oz can and is available at most mass merchandise, grocery and drugstores nationwide. For your skin to look best during and after shaving, here are some tips from Pure Silk:

· If you have a tendency to develop red bumps and ingrown hairs, use a downward stroke when shaving to avoid cutting hair too close to the skin. Shaving with the direction of hair growth, rather than against it, will still allow you to get a close shave, but not so close as to irritate the skin.

· Razors can be expensive and it’s a common shave faux pas to try and get as many uses out of one cartridge as possible. But, it’s not in the best interest of your skin. Dull razor blades can be a source of razor burn, nicks and cuts.

· Use a shave cream, rather than a gel that will cover the desired shave area and adhere longer in the steamy environment of a shower. Better coverage means fewer repeat passes of the razor, leading to less irritation. Try Pure Silk® Moisturizing Shave Cream for Sensitive Skin. It is “sensitive” to your shaving needs with ingredients such as Aloe, Papaya, Willow Bark and Thyme, which help to moisturize and soothe skin by reducing irritation and the possibility of razor burn!

I have tried these three new variants and I like the one for Sensitive Skin the best (orange can). It smells so fruity, citrusy and fun! It is infused with ingredients such as aloe, papaya, thyme, and willow bark that naturally soothe and moisturize. The one in the red can is Raspberry Mist and also smells summery. The blue one is for Dry Skin, which is enriched with Aloe, lanolin, chamomile, Irish Moss and Vitamin E. These also seem kind of moisturizing because my legs feel really smooth and soft after shaving.

I know, shaving cream is shaving cream, but after using my husband's shave cream, I know that there are differences.  First of all, the shave cream for men tends to be less moisturizing for me for some reason.  With the Pure Silk ones, they smell really feminine and has moisturizing properties.  Also, I like that the price can't be beat.
