Walking on Eggshells, Don't Steal My Thunder

Silent Treatment, I'm Getting Sunburned

Okay, I finally caved in and bought these Wet N Wild Color Icon trios. I've heard so much about these that my interest got piqued big time. Each trio has three coordinating shades for the lid, browbone and crease. In fact, each shade is imprinted with one of the following words: "browbone", "lid", "crease", so that each application is foolproof. I saw a variety of these trios at my local Walgreens, but I only got those that are the prettiest in my opinion.

Walking on Eggshells

Walking on Eggshells

Walking on Eggshells is the lightest out of the trios I got, and I picked this because it is the most wearable. It holds three neutral colors that are great for everyday. The browbone color is a goldish beige shimmer, the crease color is a light bronze shimmer, and the lid shade is a nice shimmery pinkish gold. I tried the lid shade today and it stayed pretty much on my lid for most of the day, with the help of two primers: my Urban Decay Eden primer potion and MAC Rubenesque paint pot. I think I will be using this palette for the office regularly.

I'm Getting Sunburned is a very hypnotic trio. The colors are just mesmerizing. There's a light mauvish pink for the browbone, a dark burgundy with gold flecks for the crease, and a metallic copper for the lid. Not an everyday palette for me, but great for night or dramatic eye looks.

Silent Treatment is my favorite out of the four. The shades are super gorgeous. I like the pinky peach highlighter, the dark brownish black with gold shimmer for the crease, and the taupe-ish mauve on the lid. This last one is a very unique color. Would you believe I have a bajillion shadows and yet on most days I would still be at a loss as to what to slap on my lid? Now I know. This lid color is very neutral and yet buildable for a smokey eye look.

Don't Steal My Thunder

Don't Steal My Thunder

This trio is obviously not for everyday looks but great for a smokey eye. It has the shimmery white browbone color, the sparkly black for the crease and the shimmery greyish-silver. The shadows are pigmented and easy to apply, so I believe it would not be difficult to create a smokey eye with these. I will be creating looks using these products so stay tuned.

The formula is very pigmented, applies like butter, very smooth. The downside is that these shadows are VERY soft, so they break easily (you don't know how many shadows were broken on the Wet N Wild display at Walgreens), and fallout is aplenty. If you don't mind this irritation, you will get amazing pigmentation out of these bad boys, for dirt cheap. These also don't last as long as my higher-end shadows (they fade after 10-12 hours), but they perform for a solid 8-9 hours. I am not surprised why people collect these trios.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
