Avon Anew Reversalist Day Cream SPF25 Review

I have been road-testing the Avon Anew Reversalist Renewal Day Cream with SPF 25 for a few weeks now. Avon claims that this product visibly reverses wrinkles with Activinol Technology while helping to protect skin with SPF 25 UVA/UVB. I really do not have any deep wrinkles to put this theory to work, but I can opine about its moisturizing properties, texture and over-all performance as a day cream.

Just by looking at the product in the jar, you'll see that the consistency is quite thick. I like that in my day cream because my skin has been bearing the brunt of an intense retinoid regimen due to the onset of my hormonal acne.  Of course, the anti-aging side effect of retinoid is a welcome plus!  However, I dislike the dry and peeling skin.  This is where Reversalist comes in.  The consistency is thick and emollient, so it really moisturizes my dry skin.

Blended into the skin

It is a good base for makeup because somehow it helps the makeup stay put, and I don't look greasy after I apply my foundation. I also like the relatively high SPF because I cannot be exposed to the sun due to my retinoid regimen. This would work great for the coming colder months because winter saps our skin of moisture. The best part is that this product didn't make me break out.

The only thing I didn't like about this is the fragrance. It is not cloying or anything, I'd just rather have my moisturizer fragrance-free. However, the fragrance doesn't stay long and it doesn't particularly bother me throughout the day.

All in all, I like this moisturizer as it has most of the qualities I like in a day cream: emollient, great as a makeup base, relatively high SPF (I won't use anything lower than SPF25), and doesn't break me out.
