I was really excited when MAC showed the promo images of the MAC-Lorde collaboration.  I am a big fan of Lorde, and I am glad that MAC has come up with a collection with an artist that I truly admire and I believe is truly worth the attention.

MAC has come up with a lipstick that Lorde has pulled off perfectly - it's a dark purple that is not too dark to look black.  It's described as a deep plum by MAC.  It's in the amplified formula which has a creamy and shiny texture with a little bit of shine.  Some people don't like the shiny shimmer bits of the amplified formula, and prefer a matte finish for dark or bright lipsticks.  I am okay though with the amplified formula, although I'd have to admit it doesn't apply as evenly as the matte.

As you can see in the swatches, it does come out as dark, but it still looks more of a plum than a plummy black.  It's obviously more of a fall color, so I will be definitely save this for colder weather.
