Zoya Summer 2012: Beach Collection Swatches and Review

Zoya comes up with two new collections called Beach and Surf, with Beach being the collection of cream finishes and Surf of comprising of shimmer finishes. For this entry, we are going to talk about the Beach collection.

The Beach collection features six springy and summery shades that are perfect ways to herald the coming of warmer weather.

Tracie

I am really liking Tracie. It is a nice spring green shade that has your typical cream but with an unusual glass-like finish under natural light. The moment sunlight hits it, it morphs into a shimmery light green with frosty yellow-white shimmer. Very pretty.

Wednesday

Wednesday is a nice aqua cream that is your perfect pedi by the poolside. This is not a very bright turquoise, though, but it is on the dustier side. Unusual and I'm glad is not a super bright aqua. It is very wearable because of the dusty component.

Arizona

Arizona- my home state, yay! - is a nice bright neon-ish orange cream. Not a fan of oranges, but this is a fun one and it looks nice on my tips. This would also make a great pedi shade.

Shelby

I never cared for bubblegum pink creams, but Shelby is such an amazing shade on my skintone. When I swatched it, I couldn't stop looking at my tips. It is a bit cool-toned but it goes with my warm tones nicely. So weird.

Lara

Lara is your medium Barbie pink shade. Nice shade but I have a lot of similar shades, so this didn't excite me as much.

Reagan

Reagan is a nice medium-dark fuchsia cream. This is a pretty shade for summer, and would also look great on a wide variety of skintones.

The formula of these creams is really nice- a little thick but quite easy to control. They are also pigmented and are opaque in two coats. I am liking the "dustier" theme of Zoya this spring and summer, and I am liking their dustier versions bright shades like Bevin from the Zoya True collection and Wednesday. My favorites from this collection are Tracie, Wednesday and Shelby. I think I have seen the pinks before, but I really like Shelby. So if you are tired of pinks, just get the non-pinks in this collection because they are unusual and really nice. I also like the formula and how easy it is to apply.

I will be coming up with swatches and review of Zoya Surf collection soon so stay tuned!
