Konad Nail Art and Pearls: Finger Paints Nail Lacquer in Vintage Velvet

Finger Paints is one of my favorite nail polish brands. It is not very well-known and you can only find them exclusively at Sally Beauty Supply, but they have very nice shades and the formula is quite good. They also come out with seasonal collections throughout the year just like major nail polish brands, and their colors are rich, beautiful and apply well.

One of my favorite Finger Paints collections is their Fall 2011 called Fall Fashionista. I bought all shades but I have not posted the swatches yet, but they are all gorgeous. One of my favorites is the one I'm wearing in this entry, Vintage Velvet. It is a deep, murky, dusty blue-green cream that is so gorgeous.

For the nail art, I used one of my Konad stamp plates with China Glaze Romantique nail polish in Sci-Fi for the flower image. I love, love, love adding rhinestones or half-pearls to my nail designs. They give beautiful texture and finish to the nail look. I get a lot of compliments when I add stones or pearls to my nail design.

I was given the opportunity to try the multi-colored half-pearls from Born Pretty Store. This is a store that sells all sorts of nail art accessories like rhinestones, image plates, glitters, crackle polishes, Hello Kitty stickers and the like. They also sell colored or designer contact lenses!

The half-pearl wheel below is the one Born Pretty sent me:

This is very easy to use; just slide the opening to the colored pearl of your choice, wet the tip of your orange stick using your top coat, and pick the pearl from the container and apply on the nail. Make sure you apply a good top coat to seal your design in place.

Born Pretty Store has created a 10% discount code exclusively for The Shades Of U readers! Use coupon code SOUJ61, valid before December 31, 2011. If ten or more of The Shades Of U readers use this code, Born Pretty Store will sponsor a reader giveaway, so keep that coupon code in mind. ;-) Enjoy the discount!

Note: Half-pearl nail wheel was provided by Born Pretty Store for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
