As you can see from the close-up shots, MAC came up with these paddle-shaped applicators for the first time. I've seen these kinds of applicators from other brands like Bare Escentuals, but this is my first time to see a product from MAC have these paddle-shaped wand tips. This is most probably because they need this kind of applicator to apply the product as it is very, very sticky. This is the stickiest lip product that I've tried, bar none.  This is tacky obviously to make the products cling to the lips like crazy, as it is named, indeed, the Pro Longwear Lipglass.  The tackiness makes the product adhere to the lips and stay put for a pretty long time, even through a meal.  It is also difficult to wipe off, and I needed a wet wipe to take it off my lips and skin.

Ready or Not! is a neutral light coral with slight pearl.  This is my favorite out of the four ones that I have.  Very versatile and can be used for a variety of lip looks.  It can also be work over regular lipstick to make the lipstick long-wearing as well.  Driven by Love is a beautiful bright blue-red with slight pearl. Lasting Achievement is a midtone purple with slight pearl, and Dark as Night is a scary deep dirty purple with slight pearl.  These products are not only sticky, they are quite pigmented.  They are not sheer at all.  This is great especially if you want something that operates like a liquid lipstick.

All in all, the consumer would have to choose between the uncomfortable sticky feel or the long wear, or maybe there are some people who don't mind the tackiness so it's a win-win situation for them.  I would probably wear this for special events when I would really need a longwear lip product, but for everyday use, I would choose the regular lipglasses over these, as I love to reapply my lip color regularly anyway.  Or maybe I am just not used to the stickiness, I don't know.

From the first issue of Pro Longwear Lipcremes a year ago:

L-R:Extended Play, Goes and Goes, Sweet Ever After, Till Tomorrow, Love Forever!

The Pro Longwear Lipcremes from last year that are included in this year's Styledriven collections are Till Tomorrow, Good to Go, Love Forever, Extended Play and Prolong.

Almost exactly a year ago, the first Pro Longwear Lipcremes came out, and here were my thoughts on them:

The MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme is probably one of my most favorite lip formulas from MAC ever. It has this really creamy texture that I had been looking for in lip products. The creamier, the more pigmented, the better. These bad boys are pigmented with a capital P. I really, really like how creamy they are and yet they pack a mean punch when it comes to color saturation.

I really don't care much about the staying power of lipsticks because I like to apply my lip products regularly (like right after a meal), because, let's face it, newly-applied lipstick looks more fresh compared to a longwear lip product that has been applied hours before, especially if your lips have gone through some intense activity like kissing or eating. That said, I really don't find these lipsticks extraordinarily long-wearing. They apparently have a longer staying power than the regular MAC lipsticks, maybe because they are quite pigmented.

I would have to give an updated review on the Pro Longwear Lipcremes. I really want to love this, really I do. As I said, I love the wonderful pigmentation, slip and texture, but it made my lips super dry and itchy. I had to apply Blistex medicated lip balm on my lips to soothe them. It may just be that I am allergic to one of the ingredients, but I am just giving my honest experience on this. You might not go through the same experience as every person is different, and I have no problem whatsoever with any other lip product from MAC. This one just made my lips really dry for some reason. I will not take away the great pigmentation and texture from this product, though. This was entirely my own experience with it and I'm pretty sure other people do not find anything wrong with it.

Looking at the swatches, you would see that they are really very rich, pigmented, saturated and very creamy. Soft Sell is my favorite, a light yellow-pink cream. Dress It Up is a light blue-pink cream that would be great for those that like Barbie or bubblegum pinks, Till Tomorrow is still my favorite. It lights up my complexion; a mid-tone dirty mauve cream that was used by the bride at a wedding I attended; it stayed put on her lips throughout the ceremony and reception. Good to Go is a loudmouth orange cream (I always laugh at the description "loudmouth" lol). Love Forever! is a bright blue pink that is a little darker and brighter than Dress It Up. Positively Dashing is another nice color, a mid-tone berry blue-red cream. Endless Drama is a beautiful deep berry blue-red that looks very festive and would look amazing for the holidays. Prolong is a clean red with blue undertone and pearl cream. This one is another good one for the holidays. Extended Play is a dirty red with yellow undertone cream.
