Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy 5-Color Palettes

I was able to try some of the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eye Shadow 5-Color Palettes.  These are lightweight eye shadows that come in coordinating hues and different finishes that give depth and dimension to the eye look.  Below are my swatches of two of the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eye Shadow 5-Color Palettes, 08 Infamous Sky and 10 Envious Orchid, and my thoughts on these.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eye Shadow 5-Color Palette in Infamous Sky is a beautiful blend of a matte nude, a pearly champagne, a cool blue-grey satin, a matte blue-black, a  beautiful metallic taupe.  I love the champagne and metallic taupe the most, followed by the mattes and the cool blue-grey satin.

As you can see from the swatches, the colors are very silky and apply really well.  I particularly like how dark and pigmented the blue-black is.  I also like how smoothly the metallics apply, not gritty or grainy at all.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Eye Shadow 5-Color Palette in 10 Envious Orchid is right up my alley since I'm a sucker for purples and lilacs.  This is obviously a purple palette, with varying shades and finishes of lilacs, lavenders and purples.  It contains a pearl pinkish white highlighter, a pearl pale lilac, a metallic lavender, a matte black and a pearl dark plum.

I like how coordinated these shades are.  They make a great fall palette as the lilacs contrast well with the deeper-hued plums and black.

All in all, I am liking the color choices, textures and pigmentation of the eye shadows in these palettes.  I particularly like how smooth the metallics are.  These would make great all-over lid colors.  The light colors are smooth and silky and are great highlighters.  The only color that I was not happy about was the matte nude in the 08 Infamous Sky palette, just because it looked chalky on my skin.  The price is also a bit steep, but that is expected from a high-end brand such as Estee Lauder, and you really do get what you pay for - high quality shadows that stay put well (it lasted more than 8 hours on my lids with a primer).
