MAC Pro Longwear SPF 20 Compact Foundation in NC35

MAC Pro Longwear SPF 20 Compact Foundation in NC35

I've had opportunity to try the MAC Pro Longwear SPF20 Compact Foundation. It's a new kind of foundation from MAC that features their MAC Pro Longwear Foundation in a creamy solid form in a compact. The compact looks like your typical MAC foundation or powder compact, but it has a separate compartment underneath for your sponge to keep things sanitary.

I was able to try two shades that are close to my skintone: NC35 and NW25. Below are my swatches of these shades and my thoughts on the product.

Wearing MAC Pro Longwear SPF 20 Compact Foundation in NC35

I am not usually a fan of solid foundations. I feel a lot more comfortable wearing liquid or mineral foundations. The MAC Pro Longwear SPF20 compact foundation does feel lightweight on the face, and it gives a medium buildable coverage. I don't think the finish looks too good on me, though. It looks a bit- uneven. It may be just my application, but I used the Beauty Blender sponge, and I would usually get flawless results using it. It's not really bad, but it looked a bit uneven, and I was a little bit oily after a few hours of wear. I will re-try it again and will post an update, but for now, it's not my favorite MAC foundation. It's not terrible, or anything, but I still love my MAC mineralize liquid foundation out of all the MAC foundations I've tried.

The good thing about this foundation is that it has a mousse-like, airy feeling to the skin. It is a cream-to-powder finish, and has a natural finish. It has light to medium coverage, and it might be the reason why I am not too in love with this foundation. I really prefer medium to full coverage foundations because I feel that they do not slide off my face so easily.

As I said, I will do a follow up on this review and see if my experience with this foundation improves. It is a decent foundation, but as I said, I have not fallen in love with it (yet) the way I've fallen in love with Mineralize Moisture SPF15 liquid foundation.
