Spring is upon us, and what better to way to celebrate it that wear the colors of spring on our eyes!  Kat Von D. has come up with the Esperanza Eye Shadow Palette for spring. When I think of Kat Von D, I would think of dark, foreboding colors, but this palette was such a pleasant surprise - so fun, bright, and springy colors!

I specifically like the greens peaches and the purple, just because I am such a sucker for purples and anything girly.  Here are the swatches of the Kat Von D Esperanza palette, and my thoughts on these.

Wearing some of the colors of the Kat Von D Esperanza Palette

As you can see from the swatches, the colors are not chalky despite being pastel and light.  Pastels are notorious for being chalky, so this was good.  The lighter colors are definitely not as pigmented as the darker crease and liner color like Santeria, a dark charcoal grey with green shimmer flecks.  I am also loving Selena, the purple with tiny shimmer.  Dayglo is a nice transformer color.  It is a yellowish white color than can be a highlighter, or a topper over another color to create a pearlized glow.  Really nice!

In the photos above, I used mostly Selena, the purple shimmer, with the blue that I have from the Sephora Jasmine palette.  I used Dayglo as a transformer color on the lower lid, to add a little bit of sheen.  I also used Santeria on the crease.

All in all, I am really liking this palette.  You can use this to create looks as varied as springy, bright or smoky.

This palette retails for $36 and is available at Sephora Stores and Sephora.com (clickable image below):
