OPI Joins Bond 007 to Release Six New Revolutionary Liquid Sand™ Nail Lacquers Inspired by 50 Years of James Bond

OPI announces the launch of Bond Girls, a collection of six new Liquid Sand™ nail lacquers featuring a textured, matte finish infused with reflective sparkle fitting the allure surrounding the Bond Girls. In hues of white, pink, blue, purple, gold and coral, Bond Girls offers a range of shimmering shades with the distinctive Liquid Sand finish.

“OPI is extremely excited to partner again with EON Productions,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI co-founder & Artistic Director. “Following the success of the holiday promotion with the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, it’s been a thrill to create colors for the women who’ve captured Bond’s attention over the last five decades.
“The six shades are named after some of the most iconic – and my favorite – Bond girls, including: Solitaire, Pussy Galore, Tiffany Case, Vesper, Honey Ryder and Jinx,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “Worn without top coat, these Liquid Sand lacquers give nails a pebbled, matte finish worthy of the captivating ‘Bond Girls’ name.”

I was able to try the Liquid Sand™ nail lacquers of OPI from the new Bond Girls Collection.  I gotta say that I like some of the shades from the Bond Girls compared to the Liquid Sands from the Mariah Carey Collection.  Here are swatches of the OPI Bond Girls and my thoughts on this collection.

 OPI Jinx

OPI Jinx is a beautiful matte coral with gold glints. I literally squealed when I saw this color in the box. It looks absolutely gorgeous, and this is my top favorite among the Bond Girls Liquid Sands.

 OPI Solitaire

OPI Solitaire is a bright blingy white. It looksk really clean on the nails. White can look plain, but the texture makes it look quite unique.

OPI Honey Ryder

OPI Honey Ryder is a nice gold. This is also a pretty one and one of the shades that I really like in this collection.

 OPI Pussy Galore

OPI Pussy Galore is named after one of the most famous Bond Girls. Pussy Galore is a beautiful pink. Not my favorite but it is clean-looking and feminine.

 OPI Tiffany Case

OPI Tiffany Case is a pretty light blue. Next to Jinx, this is my favorite. I've always loved soft blues on my nails. The texture gives this blue shade personality.

 OPI Vesper

OPI Vesper is my least favorite. I think the color does not suit the lumpy texture. It actually looks quite horrible on my nails.

All in all, I am liking all of the shades of the new OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sand™, with the exception of Vesper. I am particularly loving Jinx (let me say it again: what a gorgeous color!), Honey Ryder and Tiffany Case. These textured polishes are now all the rage as many nail polish brands are having their own versions of these.

What do you think of these Liquid Sand™ textured polishes?

Last note: OPI suggests that OPI Liquid Sand lacquers should always be worn without top coat.

Bond Girls by OPI nail lacquers feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application. These six new shades will be available beginning May 2013 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Chatters, JCP Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each nail lacquer.
