Estee Lauder Stay-On Shadow Paint in Cosmic

I am usually not a fan of cream shadows when worn alone.  I prefer to use them as bases underneath my powder shadows to make the shades pop and to make my powder shadows adhere to my lid and last a lot longer.

I was able to try the Estee Lauder Stay-On Shadow Paints which are their new offering for this spring.  These are cream shadows that can be worn alone or as bases for your powder shadows.  They can also be used as liners.

One thing I noticed about these shadow paints is that they are very creamy, and they are not as dry as some of the cream shadows from other brands that I've tried.  They also have a pearly sheen to them so they are not fully matte.  Because they are absolutely creamy, it takes a while for them to set, but once they do, they pretty much stay on my lids the entire day.  The key to this product is to let them dry completely.

I was able to play around with four of the more neutral shades.  I love neutrals so I'm glad that these products were the ones I was able to try.  Below are swatches.

Halo is a very creamy champagne gold.  Pink Zinc is like a rose-gold metallic.  Chained is a beautiful bronze that is perfect with any kind of neutral look.  Cosmic is a rich deep burgundy-copper.

If you apply these over a good, tacky base and let them set, they really last a good 6-8 hours on the lids.    If you apply powder shadows over these, they make the eye look last a lot longer.  As I'd mentioned, I personally like to apply them as bases under my powder shadows, although Pink Zinc would look great as a lid color by itself.  Chained looks great alone on the lid just paired with black liner.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Stay-On Shadow Paints retail for $24.00 and are available on the Estee Lauder website.
