China Glaze Hologlam Swatches and Review Part 2

(Media sample)

I've already posted Part 1 of my China Glaze Hologlam Swatches and Review, so here's part 2!  This post features the roses, pinks and corals of this collection.

 China Glaze Astro-Hot

China Glaze Hologlam

China Glaze Astro-Hot is a pretty soft pink holo under sunlight and a holo metallic indoors.  It's very feminine and dainty.

I love this shade!  China Glaze Infra Red is a magenta holo under sunlight, and a metallic magenta under the shade or indoors.

China Glaze Get Outta My Space

China Glaze Get Outta My Space is a nice lilac-hued holo that morphs into a metallic lilac indoors or under the shade.

China Glaze Not In This Galaxy

China Glaze Not In This Galaxy is very pretty, reminds me a lot of China Glaze TMI from the China Glaze OMG collection.

 China Glaze When Stars Collide

China Glaze When Stars Collide is a dark maroon holo.  This looks very vampy and quite pretty as well.

 China Glaze Galactic Gray

China Glaze Galactic Gray reminds me of OPI My Private Jet (holo version) under the sun, but the holo virtually disappears indoors.  It looks like a metallic grey under the shade.

Let me reiterate my review of the formula of this holographic collection from China Glaze that I wrote in Part 1:

The holo is non-existent indoors or under the shade except if it's under a concentrated source of light like a lamp. It's not automatically holographic once it's under the sun; you need to find the right angle for the holo to show up. This is unlike the China Glaze OMGs where the holo is visibly apparent at every angle, and sometimes even indoors near a source of light.

However, as you can see in the pictures, once you find the right angle, the holos are glorious. I prefer these kinds of linear holos (or holos that produce a "flame-like" image that goes from the top to the bottom of the nail). I am not really into scattered holos where the holo particles don't create a flame.

As I've noted previously, the holo in the China Glaze OMG collection is much stronger and more readily apparent than the holo in this Hologlam collection.  However, a nice feature of the Hologlam is that indoors or under the shade, the finish becomes a very shiny, metallic hue.  The holo might be gone indoors, but the finish is still eye-catching because it's very metallic.

The China Glaze® Hologlam collection will be available in April 2013 (and some are already available at Sally's and online) at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide with an SRP of $14.

Note: Media sample was provided by PR for consideration. All opinions are completely mine.
