MAC The Perfect Cheek Blush

I was able to test some of the eye shadows and face products from the MAC Marilyn Monroe that is now out in stores in North America.  I was really impressed the most with the MAC Marilyn Monroe lipsticks, followed by the face products and eye shadows.  Let's look at the blush, shadows and beauty powder in this entry.

Swatches:

MAC Large Eye Shadows in Silver Screen, Preferred Blonde, Showgirl

MAC Forever Marilyn beauty powder, MAC The Perfect Cheek blush

Eye Shadows:

I have three of the shadows from this collection.  They are the large size, meaning those similar to the size of the MAC Peacocky or Pro Longwear eye shadows.  Silver Screen is described as a true silver.  Preferred Blonde is a pale champagne beige, and Showgirl is a darker blue grey.  All three eye shadows are in the veluxe pearl formula, which most people seem to prefer.  While I love veluxe pearl, is it me or are these shadows a little bit frostier than most veluxe pearls?  I have Preferred Blonde on my lids today as a wash, then I used a little bit of a matte brown shadow on the crease.  I will be posting photos of that look, but after 8 hours, Preferred Blonde creased slightly on the crease of my lids with a primer underneath.  It is not too obvious though, and my eye shadow look still looks immaculate to the person sitting next to me.  The texture is a bit softer than the regular veluxe pearls in the small eye shadow form.  That said, this is just a different "veluxe pearl" to my eyes.

Beauty Powder:

Forever Marilyn Beauty Powder is described as a sheer pale peach highlighter.  It is pretty, but I don't think it is very unique to my collection, as I have a number of pale peach highlighters.  However, for one who is still building up his/her collection, this is a nice staple shade that will suit a wide variety of complexions.

Blush:

The Perfect Cheek blush is my absolute favorite because it looks boring in the pan, but it morphs into a beautiful matte dirty neutral pink on my cheeks.  Super pretty.

All in all, I like the Perfect Cheek Blush the best out of this group.  The eye shadows are okay, they look frosty but on the skin they tend to look more shimmery than outright frosty.  The Forever Marilyn Beauty Powder is a nice pale peach that has a really fine jet-milled finish.

Note: Media sample was provided by a representative of the brand for consideration.  All opinions are completely mine.

I honestly don't really like the shadows . I was mainly interested in the lipsticks. Thanks for the swatches.
