The Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadows have been the talk of the beauty community of late. They have been praised time and again by bloggers regarding their texture and staying power. These are cream shadows but even though they're creamy, don't be fooled. Bobbi Brown claims that their formula resists creasing and smearing and stays on for up to 12 hours. Here is my take on them.

Swatches:

Smokey Topaz, Berry Noir, Bronze Sugar

I have three of at least nine shades of the Long Wear Cream Shadows. I have Smokey Topaz, my favorite - it's a beautiful creamy pewter that has a velvety finish.  I used it alone on my lids, and I was afraid that it would crease since it's a cream shadow.  I was surprised when it stayed on for a full 10-11 hours after application.  I did apply a base underneath (which should be S.O.P. for anybody wearing shadow), but it was a 95-degree day and it didn't melt, crease, flake off or fade from my lids the entire day.  I was pretty impressed.

Berry Noir is a nice plum shade that would work great for nights out.  Color is very saturated and finish is lovely.  Bronze Sugar is a bronzey-gold shade that is beautiful to wear day or night.  As you can see in the swatches, the finish is a bit metallic but it shimmer beautifully on the lids.

What I like about these shadows is that you can easily blend the edges for a seamless look while they are still damp.  The minute they set, they won't smear or budge from the lids.  I am surprised that a cream shadow actually can actually last this long on the lids on a hot day.

Overall, I am impressed with these shadows.  I rarely use cream shadows by themselves but only as bases because they do have the tendency to crease and fade.  Not so with these new Long-Wear Cream Shadows from Bobbi Brown.  This way, I can wear cream shadows that wear as well or even better than some of my powder shadows.

The only downside is the price.  It retails for $24, but the good news is that a little goes a long way, and with the longevity of wear, you don't need to re-apply them during the day.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
