OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse Swatches and Review

OPI comes out with a compact but uber-cute collection called Vintage Minnie Mouse. These are four limited edition shades for summer that are all hues of red and pink. OPI collaborates with Disney to come up with four shades that pay homage to one of Disney's most beloved characters.  I for one am a fan of Minnie; I've always wanted her pink heels! I have two of the four shades, and here are my thoughts on them.

I'm All Ears

I'm All Ears is a bright magenta fleck polish with blue and purple shimmer. The first time I saw this, I immediately thought of Butter London's Disco Biscuit. I swatched them side by side, and I noticed that Disco Biscuit is more of a jelly consistency, and the blurple flecks seem to stand out more in the base, and look almost glowing. I'm All Ears is not a true jelly in my opinion, but is similar to a jelly, and the shimmer flecks are more pinkish-purple than a true blurple. The shimmer flecks are also more seamlessly incorporated in I'm All Ears.

This is a really nice shade, and the bluish tint makes my skintone look brighter and cleaner somewhat. A really nice summer shade and a perfect summer pedi color.

Nothin' Mousie Bout It

Nothin Mousie 'Bout It is a heart glitter confetti, which is more of a topcoat than anything. It has a clear base with the same purple and pink shimmer particles in I'm All Ears, with some heart confetti thrown in. I used it by itself in the photo above. It is cute, but I think I've seen this heart confetti topcoat before, just not with pink and purple shimmer particles.

All in all, this is a fun collection, but nothing that we haven't seen before. For pink and red lovers, tweeners and teenage girls that love Disney, this will obviously be a hit, but for nail polish mavens, this is not as unique as I'd thought it would be. Nonetheless, I really like I'm All Ears because of the very pretty glass-like shimmer particles and how they are seamlessly incorporated in the base. Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It is a nice heart confetti topcoat, and the shimmer particles add a touch of uniqueness to it. Keep in mind though that the hearts are a little too difficult to fish out of the bottle.  I will be coming up with combinations using Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It as a top coat so stay tuned.

I'm all Ears is pretty. I wonder if the hearts would layer well on top of it.
