Rescue Beauty Lounge Nail Polish Haul and Swatches Part I

Catherine, Catherine H., Anne, Jane, Stormy

Stormy, 360, No More War, Au Chocolat

Au Chocolat, Recycle, Frugalista, Om

I finally have my gorgeous Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes in my grubby hands.  These are my first RBLs, so this was also my first time to try them as well.  As some of you probably know, RBL had a 5-hour half-off sale two weeks ago, and goodness knows how much of a big deal this sale is to polish heads.  RBL usually retails for $18, so the polishes were only $9 each for 5 hours, except the new fall collection polishes that were still $18.  I bit the bullet and got the fall polishes as well because they are all so gorgeous. This is probably my most expensive nail polish haul ($150 for 11 polishes).  I thought I would regret it because I really don't spend that much on polish in one go, but hey, RBL only comes up with sales once a year, so might as well.  But I wasn't prepared for the RBL surprise that lay ahead.

I just have to say that RBL formula is probably the best, or okay, one of the best polish formulas I've tried.  Ever.  The polish virtually applies itself.  It's like it's molten metal and my nailbed is made of magnet.  The polish clings to my nailbed like a psycho ex-girlfriend.  It doesn't pull itself toward the cuticles or anything.  It seamlessly glides on the nailbed like a dream.  It is neither goopy, runny, nor thick.  With quite possibly a few exceptions, all of my RBL polishes are just a pleasure to apply.

Here are some swatches.

Anne sunlight

Anne under shade

Anne is in my top 3 out of all my RBLs.  It is from the fall collection, one of those I paid full price for.  It is a beautiful blackened olive with beautiful gold specks.  As I said, the formula is absolutely perfect.  Opaque in 2 coats.

Jane sunlight

Jane is my mannequin hand polish.  It is definitely a putty color and I am not so sure I like this.  The formula is amazing however, and I like it better using 3 coats instead of 2.

Om sunlight

Om is a pretty coral peach cream that is wonderful as an everyday color.  Formula again is amazing.  What else can I say about this color?  What you see is what you get.

Catherine

Catherine

Catherine is a beautiful darkened purple with gold shimmer.  It is a fantastic color.  This is my favorite along with Anne.  This is opaque in 2 coats.

Catherine H.

Catherine H. is also one of my favorites because I love periwinkles.  It is like a cornflower-periwinkle shade with gorgeous shimmer.  This is also part of the fall collection along with Jane, Anne, and Catherine

360

360 is another favorite, and this is perhaps one of the best RBLs I have in terms of formula.  The polish literally clings to my nailbed upon application; it's like magic.  It was that easy to apply.  As for the color, it is a lovely blue-green that is more blue.

Recycle

If 360 has the best formula out of my RBLs, Recycle had the worst.  It migrates towards other parts of the nail leaving patches in spots.  I had to add an extra coat to make the finish look decent.  It's not too bad though. It is a dark forest green that is quite mesmerizing, but the color is not one of my favorites.

Watch out for the rest of my RBL swatches!
