Charm Pro 21-Piece Makeup Brush Set Review

My friend Sophie of Beautynomics sent me a beautiful Charm PRO 21-Piece makeup brush set that she personally designed and conceptualized. I am truly impressed by this set, and that is not because she is my friend, but because of the jaw-dropping number of brushes in the set (21!), and also because of how well-made and classy-looking the items are.

As you can see, the brushes have their own individual plastic packaging and protective sleeves for the brushes that need to have their shapes preserved.

I don't know if you can see how nice the quality of the brushes is. These are animal and synthetic hairs that don't scratch the skin but are very soft to the touch. The hairs are tightly crimped at the ferrules. I washed the eye brushes and they didn't shed. I have yet to wash the face brushes so I will let you know. What impressed me the most is that many of the brushes look like near dupes of the MAC brushes, both in appearance and feel. The Pencil Point brush looks almost identical to the MAC 219 brush. The Eye Shader Brush's head shape looks a lot like the MAC 239 brush. The Mini Fan brush looks eerily similar to MAC's mini fan brush.  The Tapered Blending Brush has the look and feel of the MAC 222 brush.  The Precise Concealer Brush looks like my Essence of Beauty concealer brush.

This is the clincher, the Duo Fibre brush:

Top: MAC 187 brush
Bottom: Charm Pro Duo Fibre Brush

L-R: MAC 187, Charm Pro Duo Fibre

Sophie started designing brushes in 2007. During that time, she didn't have the MAC 187 and I did, so she asked me to measure the dimensions of the 187, including the head size. She wanted something that would be a near dupe of the 187. She made her first duo fibre brush pink. This time, she made it black and yet retained the original head size but made the handle a bit longer than the 187's.  The result is something that is not totally identical to the 187 but has the feel and performance of the latter.

All in all, I am very impressed with the quality of these brushes, the density of the heads, the design and packaging, and the fact that there is just about one brush in the set for any makeup application job you can think of. I also like the faux leather brush roll to keep everything in shape and accounted for.

I will be using these brushes for my tutorials so you can see their performance.  Since they have the sturdy feel of my existing brushes, I am positive they will do well.

You can purchase the brushes by filling up the Order Form HERE. They take orders from worldwide, and the brushes will be shipped from Manila, Philippines.

The Shades Of U Rating: 4.75 out of 5 stars

Wait, there's MORE!

Just how darling are these kabuki brushes? If you think that the 21-piece set lacks a kabuki or buffing brush, look no further! These are very soft-haired kabukis and they come in their own cute pink cases. I love both and will be using them to buff mineral foundation and to buff in blushes for a lit-from-within effect.

You can also purchase these at the Beauty and Minerals website.

Prices: Kabuki $14, Mini Kabuki $7.50

NOTE: A media sample was sent by a representative of the brand for consideration and evaluation. All opinions are 100% mine.

the big brushes sheds and bleeds like crazy and the blending brushes are waaay too soft! Not good quality I must say. Sorry.

Anonymous- well that's the exact opposite of my experience with these brushes. The brushes don't shed at all in my experience, and the blending brushes are quite firm enough for blending. For the price, these are great brushes that really WORK.
